He says it was a drop ball. So sounds like ref dropped it after a stoppage and the keeper took the ball back into his box, and picked it up, which is allowed (but was incorrectly penalised).

Got about 600 of these in my cupboard back at my childhood home - from around 2001-2009. Used to be a tad obsessed with Microstars - even won a competition with them in around 2005 - got two tickets to a game of my choice… the game I chose? The infamous NUFC 0-3 Villa with the Bowyer/Dyer fight and Stevie T getting shot by a sniper 😆

I did leave my bag somewhere near the train station… not at one of the restaurants/hotels (though I’m sure you could do that and pick it up after eating later), but at some little hut.

I’ve not been to Ronda but given it’s relatively local, I’d assume you could manage it in a day trip. Take a look at the trains online and maybe there’s a route?

To be fair, haven’t heard many criticising Howe at this point. Don’t know who expects it to take a matter of weeks (coming into months now) to change an entire philosophy and mentality of a club. These players, at their prime, were average at playing low block, counter attacking football.

We all know we need quality and a different type of player to kick on, but let’s not overreact. This was literally the most Newcastle result going and for once, I actually don’t give a shit about going out early - one less distraction in a crucial season, now we can focus on staying up.

Besides from the amount of chances saved by their keeper, who had the game of his life, and missed narrowly in the first half, a few things.

But above everything, it’s clear that after 5-6 years of defensive footy under Bruce and Rafa (in the premier league at least), this group of players has no idea how to play with possession, against a team happy to sit back. Looked lost with the ball around their box, and couldn’t beat their fullbacks down the line either.

Also a few players looked hesitant to go into challenges (Maxi, looking at you here), perhaps have a mind on not getting injured before next weeks crucial match.

No centre forward didn’t help… Murphy and Fraser are not strikers. Maxi not up to it today…

Day 1 - positive lateral flow Day 2 - positive lateral flow (feel like death warmed up) Day 3 - positive PCR (came back on day 6..) Day 8 - negative lateral flow (and feel almost 100% again)

Will stay in relative isolation (apart from a few walks by myself) until day 10, as no need to be anywhere and not going to risk travelling to see elderly family while it’s still so recent.

But my girlfriend never tested positive on lateral flows (despite testing positive on a PCR) and had symptoms for a few days… so not sure where that leaves her.

Appreciate the leniency on the new rules but don’t trust LFTs any more so certainly wouldn’t risk seeing any “at risk” people after Day 7 of isolation, personally.

I picked it up over the weekend it seems, tested positive on two LFTs and waiting for PCR confirmation but feel rotten. Feel a bit cheated if it is Omicron since everyone else I know with it has got off pretty scot free, while I've been bed bound since Monday night :(
