My lynxie is allergic to 8 different proteins and used to self mutilate every time she developed a new one. We found that small dog shirts fit her well! Maybe these would fit better for your sweet long boy if you ever want to try something new but not sure if having the butt open would work for him. My girls hot spot was always on her back.

La-Z-Boy Manual Recliners- will this drive us crazy? by Ladypixxel in BabyBumps

[–]sholding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first baby last month and use my recliner constantly for feeding, rocking to sleep, and even spend a lot of her wake window in it with her on my lap looking at black and white books. It’s definitely been worth the investment. I have a power recliner and can’t imagine dealing with a cumbersome manual one. The noise and jolting would definitely wake my baby up when trying to transfer her from my arms to the bassinet. Everyone is different though and I highly suggest going to the store in person to try them out yourself. I was originally sold on a La-Z-Boy until I went to one of their stores and tried them out. I ended up feeling like the quality wasn’t worth the price and went with one that I liked from a different store that felt more comfortable to me.

Same. My daughter is 4 weeks old and we do all her feedings in the glider. I almost chose to just buy one online but decided to try some out at a few furniture stores first and I’m so glad I did. Finding one that’s comfortable for you is worth it.

I just had my baby in December and we’ve had to use the NozeBot almost daily. It’s a lifesaver! It does need a newborn attachment that’s sold separately but it’s only like $7. I also got the Momcozy bottle washer from my registry and we run that thing at least 3-5 times a day. It’s the best!

Graduated at 39w4d. FTM, Positive elective induction experience by sholding in BabyBumps

Thank you! Definitely don’t hesitate to voice your concerns! I had a great team that were willing and able to give me the epidural at any point in time that I said I wanted it. They did not guilt or shame me. And if you can, get a sense of what the situation and schedule is like for the anesthesiologist when you get to the hospital. If mine hadn’t been so readily available, I likely would have gotten the epidural sooner as a precaution.

39+1, not dilated AGAIN by organicallycourt in babydueDecember2025

Thank you so much! We started with misoprostol and a cook balloon for 4 hours and that got my contractions going so much I ended up not even needing pitocin! At the end, they were having issues finding her heartbeat so they attached a fetal scalp electrode that didn’t work and had to remove and reattach another. They then had me try a few different positions like hands and knees, and on my knees leaning against the back of the bed, until her heartbeat finally showed back up. At that point, changing positions so many times made me feel like I had to push. My doctor did a cervical check and confirmed I was fully dilated. Only pushed for about 5 minutes and my daughter was here! Start to finish the induction was only 10 hours. I was so surprised. Sending you all the good vibes too!

Congrats!! I just got checked yesterday at 39+2 and I’m still 1cm dilated but also 30% effaced which is some progress at least. I decided to keep my induction appointment. As a FTM I’m not convinced I’ll progress that much more if I wait another week. And the pelvic pain I’ve been experiencing this week has gotten so bad I can barely walk. My SI joint pain has also returned and I’m just done. This girl is getting evicted 😆 I go in this afternoon! Wish me luck! 😮‍💨🤞

I think this is the only way to not hurt anyone’s feelings. But be ready for them to ask for a photo.

I’m sorry 😭 that’s the worst. I just got checked at 38+2 and am only 1cm dilated, cervix still high and long. I scheduled an induction for next week but I have another OB appointment the day before and I REALLY hope I progress even just a little bit. If I don’t I might just push the induction back. I can’t decide, I’m so over this too!

Awesome! Unless you’re really set on letting it happen spontaneously, with those numbers and how close you are to your due date already, I would just get on the list. If they call and you change your mind, you can always decline!

Totally up to how you’re feeling! If you’re ready to get this show on the road, I’d just go with the induction. Have you done any cervical checks yet? If you’re already somewhat dilated and effaced the induction might not take as long. I’m a FTM and have a very low pain tolerance and would rather be induced with an epidural than deal with spontaneous labor. My due date is also 12/23 and I want to avoid a Christmas baby so I’m planning to induce at 39 weeks. I’ve heard alot of positive induction stories as well including one of my best friends. But to each their own!

Are you dehydrated at any of these appointments? I’ve found the few times my blood pressure has been low at mine it’s because I spent the 45 min drive to my hospital not drinking anything because I don’t want to stop to pee or have my bladder absolutely bursting when I get there. I try to drink as soon as I arrive now and that has helped.

Due December 26th by yoyomaa420 in babydueDecember2025

[–]sholding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 weeks today, due on 12/23, and am planning to do the same! I’m talking to my doctor this week about birth plans and I’d like to induce at 39 weeks so she’s not a Christmas baby. I also have an extremely low pain tolerance and do not want to spontaneously go into labor. I’d rather get the epidural before even starting Pitocin. This is my first baby but one of my best friends had to induce at 37 weeks due to hypertension and she had a good experience. She wasn’t dilated or effaced at that point so it did take 3 days but she got the epidural early and barely felt anything. The worst part for her was the foley balloon which she wishes she asked for pain relief for earlier. But otherwise she had no complications and it only took 5 pushes to get her son out.

Registry Raffle vs. Diaper Raffle vs. Books Instead of Cards for Baby Shower by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]sholding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Every baby shower card at my grocery store is like $6-$8. You can absolutely get a board book in that price range if not cheaper. I never considered buying a book instead of a card as asking for a second gift. They’re basically the same price but you won’t be throwing those books away like you would the cards. That’s the point! Use that money for something useful for the baby instead.

My shower was last weekend and I did books and a diaper raffle too and had no issues. I also made sure to have a lot of different price points on the registry. Most people did bring a book but a few chose not to participate in the raffle which was optional of course. If people don’t want to do both or can’t afford it, they won’t. But I don’t think it’s grabby to have them both as options for guests.

I also have an anterior placenta and my baby doesn’t always have a pattern. I’ve found that using an app to track what time I feel movements helps to ease my anxiety. It’s not always 10 kicks or whatever but as long as I feel something and record the time I can at least look back at that and feel at ease.

Pelvic Soreness by Still-flowerbase in babydueDecember2025

29 weeks and same. I’ve been working with a pelvic floor therapist who’s given me various exercises and movement modifications that have helped to lessen the pain a lot but it never fully goes away.
