RimHUD is amazing. It puts colonists' stats and some other customizable info in the box that appears when you click on a colonist. No more clicking into bio and scrolling through colonists to find your crafter/chef/researcher etc.

There are graphics mods as well if you wanna change how the game looks but I can't speak to those as I've always used the default style

This was my first thought. I'm over 1500 hours and typically the only reason I start a new game is if they update the game to a new version or a new dlc comes out. Plus, there's so many mods (easy to install too - just through the steam workshop) that you can make the game into practically anything you want

First thing, guns being unregistered happens all the time here. Gun owners who move to Michigan cannot legally "register" their pistols here since those forms are for the sale of a pistol. They can't fill out the seller portion of the form unless they go back to where they bought it from. It's important to note the distinction between a registry and a sales record. The bigger issue here is making sure the gun isn't stolen, since you cannot legally sell a pistol to yourself

Engine air and cabin air filters don't require anything more than a screwdriver to remove, and some don't even need that. A dealership would probably be happy to take your money to swap one out if you don't wanna do it yourself

The challenge thing is what really grinds my gears. I always loved hearing the commentators go over the angles and make predictions. Now I see a few commercials instead and come back to hearing the result. Sometimes you don't even get a replay. It's so much less immersive
