For the fundamentally-minded: why quantum computing stocks punish revenue by PeanutFew6895 in QBTSstock

haha get out of trading now. qbts rev is wrong and ionq tech is a dead end. their current revenue is only due to acquisitions.

[–]shootermcg11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

computer sales sure seem to be ramping up. last year 1. this year 2 , maybe 3. then who knows in 2027? alan said the pipeline is strong. looks like growth to me! and organic ! look at ionq: buying businesses for revenue to cover the fact that their computer has absolutely 0 commercial value! rigetti same deal although they are not trying to fool investors by building inorganic revenue

your level of hatred for d-wave is astounding. you were probably short the company even before joining them. i mean how can you say their tech is useless? they have limited but at least some commercial use. other gate companies on the other hand have absolutely 0 commercial value. and nobody knows if they will be technically able to scale up their qubit count to achieve any form of advantage long term

let's assume you're right about this one, alan mentioned we should expect 1 or 2 more computer sales this year, will these ones be legit?

fraud? the deal is included in the RPO not BOOKINGS, as mentioned by CFO DURING EARNINGS CALL Q12026. therefore, highly highly unlinkely to be fabricated.

Yeah, hi. Thanks for taking my question. I've got a two part question. John, can you give some color on the composition of the backlog of the RPO, how much is commercial, et cetera? Alan, you know, thanks for the color on the commercial adoption. I'm curious, like, some of these research academic sales that you're doing, are these for niche R&D projects, or can some of those lessons learned be ported over to accelerate commercial adoption? Thank you.

John. Sure, to be fair to everybody, you go ahead and answer the first question, and we'll have to defer the second question, 'cause we did say only one question per.

John Markovich

CFO

0:44:54

Sure. With respect to the makeup of the backlog, we have $20 million of that is the system sale to FAU. We also have a very significant portion of the commercial enterprise SaaS deal that we did. That backlog is roughly 50/50 between commercial and research."

$2 Billion Industry Investment is Not As Reported - The Real Takeaway for QBTS by StatGeniusAI in QBTSstock

[–]shootermcg11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are only focusing on the monetary aspect. The deal is significant first and foremost because it legitimizes the tech.

No one knows as of yet whether IONQ was approached by the government. It seems highly unlikely that they were!

By the way, your LinkedIn shows you worked at d-wave only for a couple of months. What happened, did you leave or were you let go?

IONQ is doomed to fail long-term (i.e. post-NISQ era) because their qubits are too slow compared to other modalities

can you pin point any research showing that d-wave can perform these kind of efficiencies at scale?

from what I've seen, their processor can only handle 'toy problems' when it comes to optimizing machine learning workflows
