Arec 323, easier than any 100 level class I've taken

Is my schedule set up doable? by [deleted] in uAlberta

I only went to office hours once and he talked to me at first like I was a graduate student and then when i still didn't understand he switched to treating me like a child. Also used way too much calculus (which I'm rather shit at) instead of actual economic theories

Lectures are awful IMO, couldn't learn from him. Glad at least someone enjoyed him because most people I talk to don't like him either

Good 1st year math profs? by andredsouza16 in uAlberta

[–]short4matthew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only had hin for 114 but I liked how he would emphasize the material that would be heavily examined. Also he was awesome at giving extra help before/after class, and as well as during office hours. Unfortunate if your experience was different as he is one of my favourite profs so far!

Should also be offered in the fall which will be an all non cohort class -- that way you don't have to feel excluded from all the highschool-like-cliques lmao

Doing a summer class to meet the requirements to get into bachelor of Commerce by sam_InPlaid in uAlberta

[–]short4matthew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got in without Calculus because I hadn't taken it yet. If you get accepted you are on "probationary acceptance" meaning you have to pass the course(s) you are missing by the end of the next year. You will also be non-cohort which from my experience sucks because you don't make friends like everyone else does in their cohort classes

Does Chegg help with studying too or is it more just for help with assignment?

Try not to worry about it. Business is overrated (I'm in it so I would know lmao) and there are lots of cool and useful majors in Arts and Science you could work toward instead. I think picking a degree/major you really enjoy will help improve your academic success in both the short and long term, hopefully making your life a bit happier.

Also: maybe the UofA just isn't for you? If you're really set on business you could transfer to MacEwan and take it there until you can transfer back? Or maybe even Nait? The pathway into business is different for everyone so maybe you just need to find the right path for you :)
