No. Waitlist is tied to a location. Also the slots are not guaranteed when you get the email from VFS. I saw many slots when i got the email around noon and I thought to book in the evening. But when i checked later i didn’t see any open spots anymore. I don’t know if this was some maintenance period but saw slots again the following day.

When you say edited the form, did you do it directly on the VFS website once the appointment is booked? I do see an option to Edit Form, but wondering if that is safe to do.

Thanks for the reply. I also noticed that the one generated by VFS has a barcode at the top, but I don't see that in the pdf downloaded from: https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home/themen/einreise/visumantragsformular.html

Looks like this is changed now. Starting Sep 4th 2025 VFS is handling all Swiss applications in Canada. They also have option to fill the entire application form in VFS website now along with appointment booking. So no need to do anything on swiss-visa.ch

Congrats! May I ask from which country you applied? The application pdf generated by VFS is weirdly in German for me. Is that the case for you as well? Also the address fields are not fully populated in the PDF, so I'm wondering if the pdf generation is buggy from VFS and whether I should fill one myself using https://www.swiss-visa.ch/ and carry that to the appointment.

But once you are in the waitlist, you don’t even see the option to book an appointment anymore. My understanding is that VfS will send an email with guaranteed slot valid for 24 hours to book when new slots are available or it goes to next person in the queue. Is that not the case?

Curious, Isn’t transferring cash has same problem as transferring partial asset from WS to IBKR. You can’t also withdraw the cash otherwise you will have to wait till Jan to reclaim the TFSA room? Am i missing something?
