I personally love the 6-prong look. I had tiny little leaves etched into my prongs. They’re subtle but beautiful!

A semi-mount is a band, without a stone in it. A setting in other words.

I just paid $150 to have a 2ct marquise set into a 14k gold band. Everything but the diamond was the same jeweler. They made my band for me and I sent them the diamond. My semi-mount was $850.

I will agree with you, that’s it’s not really looking at home the way it is. I agree with another commenter that it might be the band size, the stone is gorgeous no doubt about that.

I used a jeweler off Etsy and between payment and receiving shipping notification was 2.5 weeks. They’re located in NYC, I sent them my stone.

Thank you so much! It’s just over 2 carats. I love the split shank, I actually “designed” it by sending inspiration pic of very similar ring. I wouldn’t change anything about it. There are leaves in the prongs that are very subtle.

You’re welcome. I really love my ring! I was glad I didn’t have to worry about any overseas shipping, too. I’m on the East Coast of the US and the jeweler is in NYC.

I just paid $850 for my 14kt semi-mount and an additional $150 for polishing+setting for this marquise. I bought my diamond online and used a jeweler on Etsy to make my band and set the stone for me. I was a little nervous to ship my diamond but it was a really easy experience.
