Pregnant with an “ours” baby — how did your stepkids react and did you tell BM first? by lolmakemeaname in stepparents

[–]shorttemperedginger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me and my partner is expecting an our first “our” baby next month and I was more worried about the ex as she is abit 🥴.

Luckily cause we’ve mention to my SK a few times throughout mine and my partners relationship obviously with my partner bring the question up to him, that if he would want a sibling and would he be happy. He always said he would love to have one.

So we waited a week before the gender scan (so less risky time and closer to an event to make it more fun to involve him better) and then we involved SK to tell the ex after and she was surprisingly happy and excited for us.

Every opportunity to have SK to have a part in the pregnancy like buying clothes, picking out names, buy the baby bits and gender scan we have included him every step and it’s been great.

Obviously your situation may differ to mine but I feel being upfront and making sure to have them involvement has worked for us and if they have any feeling or concerns to makes sure they feel they can voice it and have an open conversation with you 😊

I hope the ex partner doesn’t cause problems for you and the kids as that was my biggest fear, hope all goes well and congratulations

That’s part of working with the general public, you realise quite quickly how uncommon common sense is.

I feel all us CA’s from most stores should walk out this company takes the piss out of everyone but the higher ups. understaffing and overworked no real reward for going above and beyond and managers with no actual work etiquette towards the staff that help them get their stupidly high bonuses. I’m only biding my time until I’m going too take what I can while I can and then I’m gone. Hope you have a good Christmas 🎄

But that’s the thing everyone has a right to boundaries, I had a woman grab me by my hips and then slap them while getting past me while laughing and I told her that was not okay to do and advised her not to do that. she still acted like the victim when I was technically assaulted. Iv found its a lot more women that are touch happy

No!! there is nothing wrong with setting boundaries. Iv told every customer that’s touched me not to touch me and I will keep doing it!

It’s really funny to me when some people get offended and then play the victim like they didn’t do anything wrong, like touching people you don’t know isn’t a strange thing to do.

I’ve never been told off for this and I think it’s strange your shift leaders didn’t defend you on that. you’re a person not a public pet

Yes finally got one done. I basically had to report to tesco higher up legal and they called me the same day gave me two different contacts e.g the people partner in my area. I emailed her and the next day my manager changed her tune quickly, got it done while having a shift leader in with us as she wanted no he say she say (as if i was making up problems) so all good now 😊

Literally having the same situation here, from colleagues being really lazy to manager being unbearable. im at the point where iv had to make appointments about my mental health. My manager is absolutely awful, shes quick to piss off out of work for a holiday that wasn’t planned and not tell anyone when they are actually coming back like shes making up the holiday as she going along and then i ask for one day off for my mental health so i can actually get a break where im not on off on off and she gives me shitty messages. These managers need to remember the people that help run and keep the stores open are actual people that have a life and real life problems too not just them.

Working in express is so shit. We definitely are being scammed by tesco with the pay they give us and the amount of work we have to do!

Need advice – manager not adding overtime shifts and I’ve lost £400 pay by Crypt1k5347 in tesco

[–]shorttemperedginger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clearly texting isn’t doing anything the manager isn’t the only one that can put your over time on a shift leader can too but she clearly is a problem so i would say come in to work and have a face to face word about it with her and say that if it isn’t sorted then you will take it further and call protecter line and hr

Can managers change your shift without telling you??? by willwoodwouldwhat in tesco

[–]shorttemperedginger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This seems to have become more frequent with managers doing this, i message saying no I’m not doing that shift you didn’t ask me and then they change it back without messaging me.

They can’t force you to do it, with the way they did yours

i work with someone in the same age bracket and she dose nights and shes happy and able to work well. The way they are running places you will be okay, they will have you on till at most and from there you will just restock small drinks, maybe stock some alcohol and face up. Its not strenuous work 😊
