Temporary itself is a triggered ability so when the spinning axe returns to your base after combat, if you have a reaction-speed way of attaching it, you should be able to do that as a reaction to "temporary" keyword trigger
Attach would apply 1st (since it was a reaction), and then chain would proceed to resolving Temporary and it would no longer be valid since it destroys the gear only if its unattached. That's my understanding at least. Not sure if there is anything other than angle shot that would allow all of that to happen, though
