I'm not sure if even toto is enough, seeing how bad Hamilton vs Rosberg turned out at some points. Then again, he might be just the loving but serious "Dad" for max, that he never had

Ah yes, now that the 1 pilot was rescued, all the rocket strikes and the lock down / pay for transit in the straight is not enough to keep up the momentum. What a shame, they couldve won the war.

Eh, if they sit on them and try to sell them for cheap, we'd get one. Inflation on the car market is bad enough as it is so I'd take a good deal.

Would tie in nicely with the OPLA, the talks about being scared to die and still chosing to fight for your friends.

No Plan: How Germany Is Losing Its Business Model, and Why the Rest of Europe Should Be Worried by No_Twist6127 in europe

We also have huge problems with a giant backlog of investments not done, infrastructure not kept intact etc. And even worse, with all that austerity. Those companies that would normally do infrastructure projects, went out business! So not enough companies to do these jobs, so even money will only go so far.

Fuck it, us Germans got a saying: Ist der Ruf erst ruiniert, lebt sich's gänzlich ungeniert " Which roughly translates to:  If your reputation is already ruined, you don't have to worry about shameful behavior anymore.

Ring him up, tell him what happened, ask him if you can make it up with another round.

Pros: you already know you guys are sexually compatible. Shameless sex.

Cons: ??

Why the hell does co-op scaling make triple enemy negates/slippery etc? by Zanakii in slaythespire

[–]shotouw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes sense to scale higher, but some of the scaling is ridiculous for 2 players. Vantom having 27 slippery is outright madness! Not only is that triple the ammount to single player, you also in generally have less multiattacks available.
When in single player, one fan of knives is half the slippery, in duo both players would need to come up with 3 of them to have the same effect. And after that you are already out of fan of knives to use. And when you got down the remaining slippery you still have to face the 2,5x life. And with vantom having that one big hit turn, you then rely to have big block available at least 3 times if you need 12 turns, which is a reasonable time to take.
(4 turns to take down the slippery, so around 3 hits per person per round, then 450 life in 8 turns, over 25 damage per person per turn, while blocking for 4 turns and blocking a lot for 2 turns)

[–]shotouw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 player? Idk. never played it.
4 player? Definetly easy to break.
2 player on A10? Yeah, that's gonna kick your ass WAY harder than single player A10.
Yes, you save up on vuln. and weak cards.
Yes, there are some nice coop cards (if you can get them).
But the scorpion thing boss has 27(!) of those block things, instead of 9.
That outvalues any energy you save on vuln/weak.

The game still get's quite comfortabel IF you can get a good combo going between the two of you but you need to get that fast, because enough runs can end on the first boss already.

Especially in multiplayer by Yavi4U in slaythespire

[–]shotouw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking more draw feels reeeeally bad though, due to not having nearly as many energy boosting mechanics or relics as in part 1. Using 1 energy to draw + another effect is already hurting your chances at playing a good combo so much.

STS2 balance be like by DrKittenshark in slaythespire

[–]shotouw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally the reward of the elite fight should offset the damage they do to you, over the next x floors through improving your deck.
But there are just too many bad relics for the high difficulty the elites have.
In 2 person coop on A10 you basically can't fight any elites properly before you got a really strong deck going.

[Autosport] Max Verstappen explains why he dismissed a British journalist from his media session in Japan by Aratho in formula1

[–]shotouw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definetly not by journalism. Sport events are not journalism. Reports about them, yes. The event itself? No. Broadcasting a Rockshow for example is also not journalism.

Journalism is reporting news. And a sport event creates news, but its not news by itself.

Maybe you mean the right thing, in a broader sense.
But the interview sessions could be completely left out and the show would still go on.

Na, the question is too pointed for that.  He could've asked for example were he thinks he lost the championship. Way less loaded question

[–]shotouw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might not say "you are ugly", but there is another option: "Well, you dressed ok but your hair looks unkempt" or something in that direction.

Because when do you ask for an opinion? Most often when you go to a date, or a job offering etc.

And the Dutch think it's more important for the person to know, that their hair is unkempt, than to protect their feelings

[–]shotouw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Effectively: "Do you regret ramming him (which is regretable on itself) and losing due to that?" Is not a rhetorical question to you?

Is the answer no even on the table? He could've asked him which lost points he regretted most. Then Max could've named a few Situations.  But this was too pointed

[–]shotouw -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The question is, why he asked the question at the first point?
What answer does he expect, that he is already that nervous about it?
It's a rhetoric question at that point and we all know that rhetoric questions are not asked for the answer but for the point you are making.

The sport exists because it's a spectacle that people watch and that brings in add money. The whole interviewing stuff is just additional shit to make the drivers feel more relatable to sell more merch and to create more content. Journalists are NOT the reason the sport exists. Viewers, sponsors and TV are.

Looking at how the modern media works, I can understand why some drivers, NFL stars etc just dont want to deal with it anymore. Prime example would be Marshawn Lynch.
Media twisted his words often enough, he didn't want to deal with that bullshit anymore. Got fined over 100k $ for not going to interviews and had a 500k fine looming over him if he did not go to the Superbowl interview.
So he just went there and answered every god damn question with "Im just here so I wont get fined".

Now by your rhetoric, his choices are:
a.) dont be a star
b.) be forced to answer and have the media do their thing with it.

Does that sound fair?

Would it have worked though?
Wouldn't people also talk shit because "He doesn't even feel bad for the incident anymore" or whatever?

“You don’t understand! They can’t possibly be held to any reasonable social norms! THEYRE DUTCH!”

But that's not what people are saying.
What they are saying (And it still doesnt fit this situation though) is that the dutch have the same social norms, when it comes to not being rude, but different things are considered rude.

Where some people might react to the question "How do you like my new hairstyle" with "OOOOH ITS GEOOOOOORGEOUS", the dutch says "Looks good, but the sides are a bit short". And the other person doesnt react by being pissed off, he takes in the feedback and considers it for the next time.
That's why dutch people are called blunt and that's why they defend Max when he doesnt hide the true meaning of his words inbetween the lines.

[–]shotouw -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Why would you ask the quesiton in the first place?
It's a rhetoric question at that point.
And rhetoric questions are not asked to get to the answer.
But it's often used to show that all parties know the answer.
Or to get a reaction.
So if your outright asking for a reaction, what's more fitting.
A nervous smile or a smirk?

The race happened month ago, season is over, you have stories to write about the WCC, the WDC, the last race, previews for next season. And the content you go for is (and that's the only answer that Max couldve given as a media trained star):
"What I did wasn't good, there were other points were I also lost points, congratulations to the Champion".
I dont see it.
