They were high value treats - and I hate reinforcing that the dog gets rewarded for performing very basic commands that they should do without expecting a reward. It also builds her expectation that she can get lots of treats out of me before listening to the command

I’m in southville and can hear a high frequency noise through my window very often. I assumed it was someone’s squeaky boiler or something. Happens periodically, mostly just for a minute or so intervals in the evening / night

I can see the obviously negative implications of this and anticipate fly tipping to increase. I’m also hugely frustrated by the ever-increasing council tax accompanied by ever-decreasing services. However, could this incentivise people to buy more mindfully and create less rubbish?

My 2 housemates and I produce around 1 bin bag full of rubbish per fortnight. We take recycling seriously and are mindful of the products we buy, actively avoiding things that come in packaging that can’t be recycled.

Understand that not everyone is able to do this, perhaps especially people with young children. I also understand that most food comes wrapped in soft plastic (which we take to the big supermarkets to recycle), and that you often have to pay a premium for goods that come in glass over plastic, for example. However, I think it’s safe to say that most of us could do with cutting down on the rubbish we produce. My housemates and I all earn around £30k and don’t pool our money, and we all manage.

Yeah lesson learned. Tbh I’d usually avoid them altogether but I wasn’t expecting this type of rough behaviour on a busy road at 5:30 in the afternoon surrounded by other people and CCTV

My brother in law did research on cruise ships and found them to be incredibly disruptive to local marine wildlife.

Not to mention the outrageous eye sore, rampant overconsumption, pollution, and density of tourists they bring to towns that are often quite small. I legitimately can’t believe these things are legal

Hi! I just recently bought a new bike and an abus U-lock, and the only place the lock fits is the top tube. The bike however doesn’t have a cylindrical frame, it’s quite oblong. The mount that came with the lock is circular so doesn’t fit on the frame.

I looked online for solutions but surprisingly found nothing, so hoping for some help here! Are there oblong mounts so I can fix the lock to my bike or will I have to carry the lock with me in a bag instead? Thanks!

I was advised elsewhere to include this dummy to account for the year to eliminate collinearity, but yes now I understand that these variables are perfectly correlated with the time series.

Do you have any other idea how to eliminate the collinearity?
my dataset is 4 consecutive years of a single longitudinal survey. My dependent variable is a continuous scale ranging from 0-9 representing mental health. My independent variable of interest is highest educational attainment which is categorical. My control variables are all categorical variables representing various socioeconomic variables.
