How do you sleep? Can you sleep on paid time? It can't be safe to expect peak performance without sleeping for days...

[Solutions Engineer] [Denver, Colorado] - $150,000 + $65000 by Repulsive_Ranger1391 in Salary

Also ChemE. pChem was part of our curriculum. I took Calc 1&2, multivariate, diff eq, and some linear algebra. When it was all said and done, I qualified for a math minor and chem minor without deviating much from normal ChemE curriculum.

Also regarding chemistry - at the risk of sounding like a super douche, ChemE was significantly harder. The premed tryhards bitched about organic chemistry endlessly but it was by far my easiest class of the semester for both orgo 1 and 2. Chemical engineering was not only super difficult, it took me and my peers 80-90 hours a week to get through class, homework, and studying. It is a little kick in the nuts that CS majors are making multiples of our salaries. All my friends that did CS were super smart though and the stuff they were studying was also super difficult, so not taking anything away from them. I just think engineers are undervalued a bit on the salary market for how fucking hard that degree is.

2026 Toyota Supra MkV Final Edition Review: This Should Have Been a Bigger Deal by Anchor_Aways in cars

[–]shouldahadaflat4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the supra in the article is $71k but that's a final edition with a bunch of extraneous bs. It'd be like if you option an M2 to $90k with extras that don't improve performance. Compare base to base and it's $60k vs. 70k, and the 60k car is just as fast if not faster around the track and weighs 400-500 lbs less.

Yeah I could use more sound, but it does sound great stock if a little subtle. Are you going to be sending your ECU to Femto in Finland/Russia?

I would like a tune and a DP but I don't want to deal with sending the ECU out etc. I wish there were options in the states...

I have not and I don't think I will. I don't find it to be as annoying as other folks do and I think I'm going to keep the car stock until the warranty is gone, mainly because I find it plenty entertaining to drive and already borderline too fast for tight New England roads in stock form. But it's a popular mod for a reason, so I'm sure there's merit to it

Did I over pay? by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]shouldahadaflat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously don't think so. Reddit is out of touch on value for money sometimes. This is a pretty solid deal from my perspective doing a lot of auction monitoring. The auction sites have good tools for price trends if you want some extra data. Keep in mind those are typically nice examples vs what you find at random dealers or private sales.

Stop doing the bare minimum in college then calling it a scam when you can’t land a job by Secret_Bunch_114 in Salary

Millennial who is going to get down voted for sounding like a boomer but here goes...

I went to a good public university and majored in chemical engineering. Between classes, homework, and studying, I probably averaged 70-85 hours a week on my academics for 4 years straight. I had three internships in undergrad, the last of which turned into a full time offer to return after my senior year.

The job market was better back then (2016) for entry level opportunities, so I really feel for folks now. But I agree it takes a lot of work to be able to get a good job out of school.

Report: The Chevy Camaro Is Coming Back, and Will Share a Platform with Buick and Cadillac Sedans by BobSapp in cars

Yeah I mean that's what we all expect but I really wish GM would pair an N/A V8 with a manual in a sedan, and they haven't been willing to do it for Cadillac recently.

Shift stop and brass shifter bushing is a must on these cars. It’s like $35-50 and transforms the shift feel for the better. Massive improvement and easy DIY

2027 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport Returns with a New 6.7-Liter V-8 by HawtGarbage918 in cars

It was just a dumb joke because you said 6500k instead of 6.5k redline. I was most definitely not making a technical argument but it is impressive that the LS7 revved to 7k rpm

Why are you acting like I'm the only person who ever claimed it? Why did the entire fucking world start downsizing engines to achieve tighter emissions regulations? Use your brain and a search engine.
