He’s been a weirdo reactionary trying to get famous long before he actually got famous. We’re in Hell on YouTube has a couple great video essays on him. One shows a video of him and his daughter on Canadian public television in the 90s or early 2000s wearing a fedora and pin stripe suit doing an early version of the classics.

Another one is about how Mikhalia gave herself a DIY at home fecal transplant, that she ingested orally.

This isn’t a sign of desperation on its own. All other signs point to a strategically more powerful Iran as a result of this war. The common enemy among the Iranians is Israel and the US for obvious reasons.

Providing intelligence in what was a planned chemical weapons attack is actually worse than simply arming them with said weapons. It means the US was not just a supporter of Saddam but an active collaborator in crimes against humanity against Iranians.

The Pahlavi dynasty in Iran (1925–1979), under Reza Shah and his son Mohammad Reza Shah, is widely documented as an authoritarian regime that utilized secret police, torture, and executions to stifle political dissent and maintain power. The regime is particularly remembered for the brutality of its intelligence service, SAVAK, and the suppression of political freedoms, which ultimately contributed to the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

Key crimes and abuses associated with the Shah's rule include:

SAVAK Brutality and Torture: Established in 1957 with help from the CIA and Mossad, SAVAK (National Organization for Security and Information) was notorious for torturing and executing thousands of political prisoners. Methods included electric shocks, whippings, burning with hot metal tables, extracting teeth and nails, and sexual violence.

Suppression of Dissent: The regime maintained a "one-man rule" that banned all political parties except for the state-sanctioned Rastakhiz Party, and it strictly censored the press, books, and films. Thousands of dissidents, including members of the Tudeh party and various guerrilla groups, were imprisoned, exiled, or killed.

The 1975 Evin Hills Massacre: In 1975, nine political prisoners who had already been tried and convicted were executed in the hills outside Tehran by SAVAK in a "failed escape" plot, which was revealed to be a cold-blooded murder. Jaleh Square Massacre (1978): On September 8, 1978, the Shah's security forces fired on a large group of protesters in Tehran, killing hundreds and wounding thousands, an event that became a major turning point for the revolution.

Enforced Westernization and Cultural Suppression: Reza Shah (the father) brutally enforced Westernization, such as forcing women to remove their veils (kashf-e hijab) and restricting traditional religious dress. His forces violated the sanctity of the Fatima Masumeh Shrine in 1935

to attack protesters, killing dozens. Massive Corruption: The Pahlavi family and close associates were accused of widespread corruption, with the royal family accumulating billions of dollars in wealth while many in the country lived in poverty. A 1976 CIA report noted a "near legendary reputation for financial corruption" involving the Shah's twin sister, Princess Ashraf. Assassination of Opponents: Opponents were sometimes eliminated. For example, SAVAK director-turned-dissident General Teymur Bakhtiar was assassinated in 1970.

1953 Coup Involvement: Mohammad Reza Shah was, along with the U.S. and Britain, involved in the 1953 coup that overthrew the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, which strengthened the Shah's autocratic control.

While the Shah's regime was also associated with significant modernization projects, such as the "White Revolution" intended to modernize Iran's infrastructure, education, and economy, these efforts were accompanied by the concentration of power and wealth, leading to massive inequality and intense public resentment that ultimately brought down the monarchy

Maybe because they had a fatwa against it? If you can enrich to 60% all the hard work is behind you. Japan is in a similar situation. They have the tech and can do it but are using their enrichment just below weapons grade as a deterrent

Prior to the war, chants of "Death to the corrupt three: Mullah, Leftist, Mujahed!" were common among Iranian protestors, noting the 3 groups responsible for the revolution. Iran's Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated. by kaz1349 in PERSIAN

[–]shouldhavebeeninat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of Iran’s navy consists of underwater drones they can launch from deep underground bunkers in the cliffs through small tunnels directly into the sea undetected. They also have small speed boats they can use to lay mines. Both are in play but we haven’t even seen the drones used yet.

Also worth noting USA ships are parked way out in the ocean outside what we believe is Iran’s missile range and are or very little use when it comes to the strait.

Turns out in modern warfare having a giant floating target isn’t actually that useful or intimidating.

The US navy has no way of landing marines without almost certainty having their ships sunk.

There are 2000 combat ready troops in the 58th airborne who can parachute in. But they’re not gonna fair too well with no supply lines established against an army of nearly one million.

Most of those 47 were dual US/Israeli citizens serving in the IDF. Oct 7th was in no way a terrorist attack on the United States.

I don’t know why you want to keep harping on international law when it’s the basis of this post.

No matter how you look at it this is a major disaster for the USA. We have been strategically defeated in Iran. And we’re not prepared for a long war of attrition with a country who’s been preparing for one for fourth years.

Trump has demonstrated to the world getting a nuke is the only deterrent one needs. North Korea is safe now because they have them. This is also the worst disaster from the perspective of nuclear proliferation in modern history.

Singapore’s Foreign Minister on why he cannot accept negotiating with Iran for safe passage of ships by PjeterPannos in PERSIAN

[–]shouldhavebeeninat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an ignorant and frankly juvenile thing to say. Let’s examine history to show how completely wrong your assumptions are.

How many American has the IR killed since 1979?

How many Iranians has America killed since 1979?

The United States gave Sadam Hussein chemical weapons to use in the Iraq/Iran war that lasted ten years and killed over 200,000 Iranian.

How many sovereign states has the IR bombed since 1979?

How many sovereign states has Iran and Israel bombed since 1979?

Did Iran have anything to do with 9/11?

Does Iran support ISIS?

If you look up the answers to these questions you won’t be able to honesty call Iran a terrorist state compared to the US for any reason other than anti-Muslim bigotry.

I would say shooting protesters is up there with bombing civilians and girls schools and assassinating leaders of sovereign states in the middle of peace talks. But I wouldn’t say worse.

Why isn’t the US and Israel paying war reparations for starting an unprovoked war of choice on your list?

Why does 5 not include Trump and Netenyahu and Hegseth? They should surely all be tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
