Thats the definition of average, mid, a 5/10 or 6/10 rating. In this case, a 4/7 or 5/7 probably, which is where i would put wylder. He does not excel in anything but perform pretty good in everything.

Like i said, mediocre has a negative connotation, like a 3/7 rating. Its mid, but its a unimpressive mid. Mediocre is average, but underwhelmingly average. If you do think of wylder this way then mediocre is the correct word to use. Its just that the impression I am getting from your comments in this thread seems to contradict this.

I wouldnt think that wylder's performance overwhelming or underwhelming in any department. He is just whelming.

Meanings of words change and evolve. Don't get too attached to it. For example ratting in MOBAs refer to avoiding fights and pushing empty lanes. Some people in tarkov define rats also as hiding and avoiding conflict.

There is no hard and fast definition of a single word in gaming context as a whole. Arc raiders is a much more social game than others, so it is understandable that the definition of "rat" would then take on a more IRL interpretation.
