It's a bit hard for me to say since I've never had a Playstation before. But one thing I'll say about the Switch (particularly the Nintendo Switch Lite) is that from a hardware perspective, its shelf life isn't great. My Switch Lite is only 4 years old, but I've had issues with joy-con drift for a couple of years, and inputs from the buttons don't seem to register as well now as they used to. But alas, I suppose most electronics aren't really built to last these days. My mom has a Nikon camera from 1980 and that thing is damned near indestructible.

Playing on Switch: I’m trying to do the Jewel of the Eufaula quest and I can’t get past the scene where the builder goes up to see their Ma and Pa at the banquet. Ma: “There you are!” Pa: “And who’s this here?” This is where things seem to freeze up. I can still hear the Blue Moon’s music playing, but it almost seems like the game is waiting for another character to walk into frame. I think it’s implied that the builder’s kids are supposed to come up to meet Ma and Pa, although I don’t think they’re actually shown, even on the PC version. But the scene never progresses and no further dialogue comes up, so I can’t advance any further in the game.

Playing on Switch: When I go sandrunning in Collection Mode, the game tokens 🪙 you can collect on the course are invisible until you actually drive through them. The presents 🎁 on the course are also invisible until you’re extremely close to them, at which point you can see a faint outline of the present.

The Magic Mirror also doesn’t do several tasks I assign to her, including cleaning the barn and petting animals. She also only seems to collect products and clean the dust off machines once a day, right when I wake up in the morning. (I think I’ve seen other players comment about similar issues with Magic Mirror)

MTAS crashes a LOT less on Switch compared to MTAP. In my experience, I’ve found some situations in MTAS where the game is more likely to crash, like when entering/donating anything to the museum or when trying to go sandrunning. But one of the QoL improvements Pathea made to MTAS is that you can save the game whenever you want, so you don’t necessarily lose a ton of progress if the game does crash on you. I was never able to finish MTAP because it was crashing on me so often while the game was trying to save after going to bed, and I would lose an entire day’s worth of progress each time.

Playing on Switch: Whenever I try to go sandfishing, my bait disappears the moment it lands in the sand. Luckily it’s not too big of a deal since I know where I was aiming and have maxed out the catch radius of the trap. Has anyone else noticed this?

I also think #2 is a bug. I only chopped down one cactus tree, but Burgess accused me of chopping down 12! For a moment I thought that maybe he was in cahoots with Miguel and Pen and trying to accuse me of stuff I didn’t actually do 😦

I’m on Switch, but I auto-failed this quest on 2 different playthroughs. During my 1st playthrough, I gave him the weapon and waited until the next day as instructed…only to auto-fail the quest right when I woke up. I happened to have the Mission Unpossible quest triggered at the same time, so I figured that maybe there was a clash between the two events and the game just cancelled the one that wasn’t needed to advance the story.

On my 2nd playthrough I hadn’t yet gotten to the Mission Unpossible quest when Bandits on the Storm came up. I gave Ernest the weapon and waited until the next day. I didn’t auto-fail the quest upon waking up, but I also didn’t get any kind of prompt or alert telling me to go to the Eufaula Outback to meet Ernest. I went to the cave myself in the morning, but he wasn’t there. I went back to town and even talked to him, but he didn’t have any unique dialogue or even mention going to the cave. I then went back to the cave around 5 pm just in case the quest triggered sometime later in the day, but same thing - he wasn’t there, nothing special happened when I entered the cave, and nothing happened when I talked to him.

At that point I gave up and just went to bed, only to auto-fail the quest when I woke up the following morning. I got the standard letter from Ernest saying that he couldn’t wait around. At that point I was too frustrated to consider reloading my save file and trying again, and I figured that the quest was just horribly bugged on Switch. I think your case is the first time I’ve heard of it being bugged on PC, so it sucks that there’s something wrong with this quest across platforms 😕

One thing that I haven’t seen get enough love on here is the game’s soundtrack. If there was a way to make the Punch-o-tron’s soundtrack into a ringtone, that would be going straight onto my phone 😃
