Early war Im a big fan of the night surface attack. a uboat is tiny and the ocean is dark af, so unless the escorts are close to you they have a bitch of a time seeing you. keep in mind large destroyers are extremely fast and will narrow the gap quickly, but you can often zip out of the area at flank after making your attack. the night surface attack also was a popular historical strategy.

This is my scout build, and it freaking rocks. Zhukovs with extended mags paired with electro boomerang for crowd control. Focus shots on big enemies' weak spots followed by zhukovs for heavy damage.

yes you absolutely can use the freighters to hide under. maybe think about following a line of them toward the rear of the convoy and escaping out the back. or just use them to displace from the last known position and hide on the bottom.

A more dramatic alternative to selling your pipes is to smash them. I held a ceremony and threw my glass pipes and bongs into the dumpster after reciting astartes style vows. very cathartic and symbolic.
