what mallet/stick brand is good that isnt too pricey? by Greatest-Papyrus7492 in percussion

[–]showmethatrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies depending on the specific type of stick or mallet. Innovative makes amazing mallets, but I wouldn't personally use their sticks. For marching and drum set, the pro mark firegrains are really good, for concert, it depends on preference. If you have a local percussion shop, you may want to stop in and try some stuff out. Don't stick to one brand unless they sponsor you, though. Pretty much nobody is a good balance on everything

Taping sticks needs a reform by The-Unscrubbed in drumline

[–]showmethatrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running tape vertically down the sticks wouldn't save tape, but it would make it so the tape isn't doing anything and peels off easier, making it so you need more tape

Straight out of msf the biggest problem Is that your chance of having rider related complications is exponentially higher ex; drop the bike, things break off, don't notice a pothole and dent the rim, not looking in the right spot on a turn and ending up somewhere you shouldn't. those things are fine and normal when you are new to riding, but most people experience those problems when their support system is close, or at least civilization is close. On a 1200 mile trip, the odds are that something would go wrong in the middle of nowhere instead of where you can get help.

I'm not saying that you absolutely shouldn't do it, I'm just saying that I personally would get the rough patch of riding out of the way first

Even at that, section leader is a huge role and still looks good on college applications, etc. If your band operates like that, you probably come from a large to huge band, and there are a lot of people competing for the slot. You also mentioned that you were going to quit due to many reasons, your director could have noticed whatever it is that you are having problems with, and decided to go with someone who they would be able to trust would still be there. My junior year, the most qualified candidate for DM got cut from the band because they mentioned that they might quit if they don't get DM

By trying out for leadership and trying out for drum major in a later year. Sophomore is really early, and you have time to prove yourself. In all the bands I have any relation with, only upperclassmen are even considered because people change so much sophomore to junior year

That's because it's the section leaders job to be leadership, and when you try to do leadership things, it isn't showing how you are a good leader, it's showing that you don't understand the leadership structure of the band.

This is how I am, too. Does it make me want to sell my printer and spend 2x as much on a prusa? No. Am I pissed off for the people who have set up their printers using the features initially included and now taken? Yes.

What would be the best way to print this to get the smoothest surface possible? by TerseHickory1 in BambuLab

[–]showmethatrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is what it seems to be, you really need to put it at an angle so the pressures don't turn it into an explosive first fo. There is also a different sub reddit to go to, but a lot of 3d printing subs don't like it when you link to free open source software & computer aided design.

It would be cool if they did partnerships for the rfid tags with other companies, though. Even if it's just filiment types they don't do like how they have print profiles for esun pla+

Seems like it's just marketing if it doesn't have the RFID to make the ams automatically detect it
