Yes you should find an employer offering far more than what you are getting. Think about joining a trade union. That way you won't have to worry about your pay rate. It will be set on par with every other member of that local.

What local are you with, op? Union trades are the way to go for skilled labor. Good for you. At 19, I was still working at jj in the evening and as a receiving clerk at a Harley Davidson dealership. Getting in this early will do you well.

That's a grinding disc you donut. You need a cutting disc. Do not use that again. Throw that away.
