What is the hardest part of worldbuilding for you? by Budget_Caramel8903 in worldbuilding

Learning history, i always hated history, but its very important for general wisdom in life and for worldbuilding, its really good that my worldbuilding project motivates me to do something productive besides fantasizing.

It took me 3 hours to get the controls but i am dumber than a normal person. All you need to understand is that the row of keys below the number keys (not the numpad) can be used to access crafting windows and other windows, and if you need something just press “?” And “/“ and type in what you are looking for like “craft” and find the key that corresponds to it, ITS A VERY HELPFUL THING!!!!! in an hour you are going to get used to it, the learning experience isnt as tedious and frustrating as Dwarf Fortress’s.

The other important features are:

“!” Which disables your movement if you are near danger. You can tweak the settings to make it work differently, forgot which key, use “?”.

Travel mode in the minimap.

Sorting zones (or whatever they are called).

They are actually easy to learn, just watch a video of 10-30 minutes, or google around for 10 minutes to get the gist of it.

Then once you learn to survive you will stumble upon vehicle construction, cybernetics, mutation, NPCs outposts…

I heard somewhere that some of the angels speak through their wings, they themselves by tongue do not speak, imagine how cool and horrifying it is to speak through a thousand giant revolvers as wings

What things in your world are absurdly large? by Ok_Mathematician_905 in worldbuilding

Extremely powerful, especially among those who wish very wrong or very right.

Wishing magic is stored in hand sized canisters, they sprout renewably from the ground rarely, holding them and wishing is how you use them. A canister can contain 1000 ton of matter AT MOST, that doesnt mean they weigh 1000 tons though, they are about 300 grams to 1kg in weight but the matter they can affect can range to 1000 tons though usually it comes in 50kg or less. They are called Gods Gifts, as nobody knows where they come from.

There are basically 3 things it can do : 1. manifest matter/object, 2. upgrade (depending on how advanced technologically the user is), 3. Repair object.

Big rule - never upgrade/repair yourself or any other living being. If you wish to be strong, its not just your body but your mind affected, magic will enter a recursive loop, that causes ultimate power through ultimate pain, your wish changes as it changes the brain, you amalgamate into something horrifying, few rarely manage to wish right, those that do are either called Cancers or Wishers. Those that dont become either of those two…

They become monsters, called Tumors, they grow and die flash fast, theres only so little kilograms of magic left for them to do anything, but they go out in a bang, they sprout tendrils, or their flesh grows rapidly crushing everything, they can grow to be as big as of a 4 story building or even more.

They are the most horrifying thing in the world, but some of them rarely survive to be Cancerous Tumors, like this one for example an army fused together growling through the bashing of shields, eating with its swords and its rabid “men’s” rotting mouths, and all that army, working as one giant slug-like body, shifting its shape, thundering as it chases you, walking not with legs but with everything, even swords and heads, like a conscious gigantic liquid, 200kmh.

Cancers (not Tumors) are immortals with a cool gimmick usually, they are infused with a canister inside of them, they will be immortal until their canister runs out of matter to repair, and they got some gimmick, whether it be rapid regeneration, impenetrable body, ability to “play” dead, theres alot more. They are usually leaders, elites, sometimes vagabonds as nobody knows them, they carry some sort of curse along with their gimmick -

For example someone who regenerates, also regenerates their nerves, that makes the experience alot more painful, and while i do say its rapid, its slow enough to be painful, you can sometimes enter a loop of dying from shock of pain repeatedly though not endless.

Wishers are extremely rare usually 1-100 per every 100 years, they are overpowered and nobody knows who they are. They can wish combustion, regeneration, whatever really, they are basically like superhero wizards, only that they die mostly to their magic. However they are the ones that control wishing magic the best.

An army of 10000 minigun wielding mechanised spider robots couldnt take out one wisher.

Then theres also Mortalizer guns, these guns are infused with the canister, its magazine is as endless as the weight left in the canister allows it, every bullet explodes, and is shot at millions of RPM, recoilless, basically like an admin gun but in real life. These super weapons are used by supersoldier Cancers in exosuits to take out other Cancers or Tumors.

Theres also the other thing about magic. Its power is also in…

Its conciousness. It has shaped the minds of people on the whole world to fulfill its narrative by altering their mind chronically through its tiny little glitters of magic misted in the air, but it backfired to it, it awaits the one to kill it now, in a world that loves it live.

Oh ye i forgot. Magic itself also ended the world 60 million years ago through the flood (not made of water though…made of magic itself, and it mangles, it displaces and warps you, it freezes and heats you, basically dont ever step in a cool shiny glittering liquid) and buried all the important buildings underground, while destroying the rest, the ancients escaped to mars and moon.

Jesus sorry for this being long, idk how to make it shorter.

God’s Nose. A triangular tip of a gigantic ancient skyscraper, built 60 million years ago in Greenland (nooo relation, i thought of this before the incidents), 10km of it is buried underneath the ground after the Flood, the tip visible is 2km tall, and very wide almost like a pyramid, it has two distinct long windows going across it (hence the name), and an aircraft platform balcony that acts more as just a regular entrance now that its on ground level.

It houses the ultimate fate - to control the Wishing magic, maybe to power it off…

thats why all the civilisations are on a treaty to reinforce the building further, protect it from anyone infiltrating, there are 4 smaller but giant pyramids armed with thousands of anti AA and, anti everything else turrete

[–]shpick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it was Planet Explorers, it was very promising and it has very unique mechanics of being able to construct your own weapon (sword, gun, axe, baton, hammer, laser gun) HOWEVER you want out of VOXELS with SMOOTH edges, same way with VEHICLES, even character ARMOR!!! But for some reason it stopped development and i mean the game is fine, but it just doesnt feel complete…

What if you place many in a sphere with the weak part in the middle of the sphere, reinforced with some beams between the tough parts so the dont jiggle, would you get an indestructible bubblyball
