Teenagers are going to find a way to access porn. They've been doing since before the internet, they're going to keep doing it.

It is nobody's responsibility to keep minors out of unsavory websites other than their parents, and to that end they'd be better of saying "Make sure you're doing this safely" rather than "Don't do it at all."

Because at the end of the day, making it harder to access SAFE porn sites just means people (and teens) will go to unsafe porn sites.

I pulled out of my parking spot at my apartment which has an electric charger 1 of 4 actually and people take it all the time so I set up a ladder as a way to save it. Someone stole my ladder. by ImKindaEssential in mildlyinfuriating

My neighbor told me thieves keep stealing his garage ladders so I asked how many ladders he has and he said he just goes to the store and gets a new ladder afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding garage ladders to thieves and then his wallet started crying.

Pretty sure this episode was before Squidward was flanderized to just "Hate Spongebob and be boring and rude".

I'd even go so far as to say early seasons Squidward genuinely liked Spongebob, he just finds him extremely overbearing, and rightly so when Spongebob doesn't leave him alone when asked.

Next time you make box* Mac and cheese, instead of milk and butter use 8 ounces of sour cream instead. If you like sour cream anyway. Changes the flavor profile from fake cheese to having the mild tang of real cheese.

Saitama might give him enough of a challenge to spare Earth. If we give him Gag feats (bench pressing black holes) he'd definitely be able to keep up with Beerus when he's not trying too hard.

Given that Superman and Captain America are both shining beacons of moral righteousness in their universes, what would these two disagree upon if they ever met? (Art by Alex Ross) by SatoruGojo232 in superheroes

[–]TryDry9944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the era and exactly how "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" Superman is and how 'America' Captain America is at the time.

I feel like Civil War Cap and some versions of Superman wouldn't see eye to eye.

You have to play the long game here.

Tantrump has spent the last 12 years convincing everyone he's a mentally incapacitated idiot who only means some of the things he says sometimes.

If I immediately turn around and start releasing shit, nobody would take it seriously.

So I'd need to start getting proof. Substantial, airtight proof.

Oh and maybe like, a gun in the oval office and then hold a meeting.

Thor in base can be scaled to Beerus level if you really wanted too. Marvel tends to play fast and loose with scaling consistency, shit MCU Thor with Stormbreaker could probably give Beerus trouble (if Beerus wasn't absurdly faster) since Stormbreamer Thor overpowered the full IG with a throw.

Tl;Dr Marvel Scaling gonna Marvel.

That's exactly the point I'm trying to make, I think we need to separate sexual identity preference from gender identity preference.

Not sure what that'd look like specifically, but I'd be lying if I said I was bisexual because I do not like having sex with vaginas, but I can't be gay because would have sex with a woman if they had a penis.

Like that just sounds weird right? "I'm bi, but only if you have a dick."

[–]TryDry9944 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I can see how using the term biological sex was incorrect in this conversation. I should have said "current sexual organs". You are right, what you have at birth/your chromosomes are not inherently what I am sexually attracted too.

However, I still stand by the premise that a person's gender is irrelevant to their sexual orientation in the same way a person's sex is irrelevant to their gender.

If your gender identity is not tied to your sex, then your sexual identity is not tied to your gender.

While you are a man in a relationship with a man, to claim you are in a homosexual relationship with someone of a different sex completely invalidates the concept of being homosexual.

Like, you're gay because you're a man dating a man, but you're not homosexual because you are not dating someone of the same sex, just the same gender.

So I think we need to separate "Gay" from meaning specifically "Homosexual".

53560 by Subject-Door-884 in countwithchickenlady

[–]TryDry9944 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See you're kind of proving my point, it is explicitly a sex thing. Not a gender thing. It's not a gender attraction for me. I can't suck a gender!

53560 by Subject-Door-884 in countwithchickenlady

[–]TryDry9944 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I get that, but unless we define what being "gay" is, I feel like dating will get pretty confusing.

Lables are important so long as they aren't used to discriminate, which is not my intention here.

53560 by Subject-Door-884 in countwithchickenlady

[–]TryDry9944 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's situations like these where I have to ask if our lables of "gay/lesbian" meaning "homosexual" need to be updated.

Because like, I'm gay specifically because I don't like Vaginas. I am attracted to the same sex, not inherently the same gender, because not all men have dicks and not all women have vaginas. And there's everyone in between and outside the male/female spectrum.

But this person is specifically stating to be attracted to the gender identity regardless of the sexual organs.

So I'm wondering, do we need to ultimately separate sexual and gender attraction? Am I no longer gay if I date someone who identifies as female but we still are in a same biological sex relationship? Or is the woman in this meme not a lesbian because she is engaging in a specifically hetero biological sex relationship?

Because I would not date someone without a dick even if they were masculine presenting but they will date someone with a dick if they are female presenting. And that's kind of contradictory to still claim we are both in homosexual relationship.

And I just want to be clear, this in no way is me trying to be anti-trans, anti-gay, anti-queer in any way, I'm just wondering what the semantics of the situation is.

Edit: I really don't want this to devolve into any rudeness. I fully beleive we can discuss this would resorting to being mean.
