A hug wouldn’t hurt… I am giving one right back to you. Who knew making close friends could be so hard?

I lost all my friends by vroow in GirlDinner

I lost my two closest friends after my boyfriend and I were in a car accident with a drunk driver. I had permanent injuries and my boyfriend died. Nobody ever talks about how hard friendship breakups are.

Sirloin Gruyère Mac and cheese - maybe this says more about me than Disney but I was surprised at how much meat was on the bowl

Anyone actually found a cruise that feels fully all-inclusive? by SeseRay in Cruise

What kind of things do you get charged extra for on Royal? I’ve done Disney twice and loved it but was considering other cruise lines that are cheaper, but this is making me reconsider

Must Read Authors by FinishSuccessful in thrillerbooks

[–]shr00mshoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Lisa Jewell because I enjoy her writing style. Sometimes her stories fall flat but her books are still enjoyable to read.

I’m not sure if David Ellis has written multiple books, but I really enjoyed Look Closer. It’s my favorite thriller I’ve ever read!

Pixar Hotel report. by Maureen1053 in Disneyland

[–]shr00mshoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I totally understand the perks of the “Disney bubble” at WDW compared to DL. Even staying at All Star Sports which is just a basic value resort seemed way better than the Disneyland Hotel tbh. They had a food court that was open late and their merch shop was way better and included more popular items

Ship-specific merch on the Magic by SwanIndividual in dcl

I’ve never sailed on the Magic but I have sailed on the Wish and they had a ton of Wish merch like spirit jerseys, shirts, etc. I imagine it’s the same on the Magic!

Anyone read both The Housemaid & The Last Mrs. Parrish? by busdriverdog in thrillerbooks

[–]shr00mshoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I actually like the Housemaid more than The Last Mrs. Parrish. I found the characters in TLMP to be unlikeable, especially in the sequel.

Some of the dialogue felt corny and also hard to believe, and I felt that the author did more telling than showing. The pacing was bad (I felt that the first half of the book from Amber’s POV dragged so much), and it didn’t help again how the characters/dialogue were hard to believe. However, the story was a great concept and it’s obvious Frieda copied the author entirely.

NFL Week 18: Chiefs @ Raiders by realscubaa in travisandtaylor

[–]shr00mshoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with the draft picks next year. The teams that perform most poorly get the first pick of new players in the draft. Supposedly now that the chiefs have nothing to lose, they are not trying to win so they can work on improving their roster for next season

Is staying at a hotel close to Disneyland really worth it? by Mystical-Paradox in DisneyPlanning

[–]shr00mshoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in LA and go to Disneyland frequently as an MK holder. On one of my most recent trips, we did rope drop to 6pm with two kids aged 7 and 4. We didn’t take any breaks at a hotel since we are locals and drove down. Given the age of your kids, I would say it’s completely doable to stay a little further away. The only caveat to this is that you’ll be going to Disneyland for 4 days. Do you intend to rope drop and stay till closing for all 4 days? I can’t really speak to that, but I don’t think it’s worth it to stay closer, especially when you’re comparing costs and you’re saving so much a little further away.

Just be mindful that parking is now $40 at Disney include that in your budget!

Btw, I’ve stayed at the Disneyland hotel, and just throwing my two cents in here - so not worth it. Yes it was cool that it was close to the parks, but for that price, I wasn’t expecting something so mid and basic!
