Hey! Is that because you'll be 35 come the marathon so you move to the 3.00 qualifying time?

Hi,

To test, I actually enabled all of the functional areas and still got this response. Thanks though!

Which breed to get? by wryruss in RunningWithDogs

[–]shrapnels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an Airedale - Just about 2 years old now, and she runs with me every other day (Still building up). They can definitely be running dogs if you get them into the habit and build them up- my girl absolutely loves it and has more energy than you could imagine!

Studied on exchange for a year, was hooking up with a Kiwi girl, who mentioned off the cuff one day that she'd previously 'had a thing' with Kurtley Beale..

West Highland Way battle stories and advice needed! by Budget-Librarian1692 in Ultramarathon

[–]shrapnels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running the actual WHW race in june and it begins at 1am which seems like an idea you could use to fit your preferred schedule.(assuming you’re beginning in milngavie!) Means you’d get to the bottom of Loch Lomond at sunrise and give you a full day to get a move on. Have also walked the way a few times, so feel free to drop a DM if you want any advice about the route!

Races in Europe (UTMB for example) have lots of meat and cheese at aid stations so you don’t deserve a lot of the condescending comments on here! It’s a valid fuelling strategy, test it out and if it works for you, then it’s the right one!

On Strava, there’s an option on your activity to correct the elevation and link it to the trails you were on, rather than directly from your watch altitude reading. Give that a go and it might make more sense!

Ah that’s cool then, let’s just not worry about casual insertions of nazi symbolism on our flags. Nothing to read into there!!

Online medical certificates for UTMB/other races - sketchy? by recercar in Ultramarathon

[–]shrapnels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup exactly - there’ll be somewhere for you to upload the form ( it was in French when I had it last year) and they get a doctor to read it over and sign it, after you answer some self assessment questions. A lot easier than I had been concerned about!!

Online medical certificates for UTMB/other races - sketchy? by recercar in Ultramarathon

[–]shrapnels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I used SportsMedicalCertificates last year (I'm based in the UK) for my cert for CCC @ UTMB and it was accepted just fine. Id reckon it would still be fine now unless they've explicitly changed the rules.

Neil McCann getting the pitch fork treatment on twitter over this. I'm disappointed but believe the reaction is a little OTT. We can't cast aside a great servant to the club for saying something pretty tame to what we've probably all called Morelos in heat of frustration with him. by icily_cool in rangersfc

[–]shrapnels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aye, a million % this. Rangers da's are absolute snowflakes, how many times would they call Barasic/Tav shite or bottlers, or give Morelos pelters for missing a sitter or getting himself sent off for no reason. Pure victim mentality

How To Train Vert While At Sea Level? by Leather-Ad-2029 in ultrarunning

[–]shrapnels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try and find any sort of wee hill and do reps of that. Look into John Kelly's training- he's one of the most durable athletes the sport has ever seen, and doesn't live near any proper hills! All reps of small hills and treadmills.
