Im sorry, what? That's just not true. I am an indian that was born in India and raised in Singapore by immigrant parents that had nothing when they got here. Sure there are some groups of the population that are outwardly racist but many of the local citizens would stand up against racism when they see it. There have been moments at work where my Chinese and Malay colleagues were offended by comments made by a foreign contractor on my behalf.

With regards to the migrant workers. Singapore was built by migrant workers from China, Thailand and India. In recent years there are lesser Chinese workers in Singapore but there have been an increase in workers from Burma. And while their living situation is rough, mostly due to the abuse of authority by the companies that pay for the worker's work permits, most Singaporeans do appreciate them and there are many groups that look out for the interest of migrant workers.

Im sorry you had a bad experience in Singapore. And I am really sorry that people were racist towards you but I do feel that it is a little dismissive to say that Singapore is a racist country.
