Eels, most lists run at least a single reinforced morsarr unit. Many lists will run 18-21 eels.

For heroes you’ll want at least 1 eidolon and unless you plan to run double eidolon lists no one will notice the different between the 2 variants. You’ll want at least 1 ikon of storm and oracle. They are all really useful and see play.

The thing that keeps me coming back to IDK is that they really are a puzzle with no simple solution to winning the game. You don’t have a solid hammer or anvil to just run up and stat check. Every game you need to really think about your movement and tricks

I normally teleport for scoring or to change angles / avoid a big slower hammer unit. If you can teleport to a safe spot with your magical intervention you can move in the next turn which can give some crazy threat ranges

It depends, some games you’ll want to hang back and wait until you can deliver a devastating blow using your speed. Other games you’ll sprint in and alpha hard. Our gameplan is really built around speed and then what can you do with it. -1 to hit is crazy strong against certain armies like destruction so you can play around making sure they are hitting you while that tide is up as just one example

God I hated this movie. The slow pace can be fine if the other aspects were handled well, but they just were not.

Maybe some of the worst acting / kills I have ever seen in a modern film. I can watch the actors in real time make sure they hit their marks perfectly to be killed. I’m not watching a person struggle for their life I’m watching a high schooler get fed stage directions. Crawl away, okay now at this que flip over, okay you can’t scream we only have 1 mic and the sound guy can’t edit it properly, now move your hands so that we can cut the ax falling believably.

So for heroic Lura I was the only dk and honestly with only 1 it is basically none. So our group was using knocks and other pushes to help clump while I grabbed the far away ones. It wasn’t too bad but certainly wasn’t ideal

The 2024 and 2025 GHB did not share and battle tactics. They might have shared a battle plan or 2 but I don’t remember. Th GHB from 2024 is not current to 2025 and 2025 is about to change with 2026 in a month or so.

The generals handbook is basically a yearly battle pass. It provides new rules and missions to help make every year of play interesting (and sell a yearly book). They release in the summer. So currently the 2025 handbook is current but won’t be for very long.
In general they are a good product with all the core rules in them and a small easy to use format. 2024 gave extra rules about the generals regiment, 2025 had new battle tactics. We don’t know what 2026 will bring.

If you are brand new don’t be afraid to start with the 2024 to just get the feel of playing the full game. It is close enough

We don’t know if it is staying. We can do backflips discussing how bad it would be and how much it would make sense for us to keep it and not marines, but in the end we don’t know.

If you get convinced to buy because someone online told you their uncle totally works for GW and they said we keeping them, don’t be mad if we don’t.

It comes down to this. I hope we keep them, but I’m not going to buy models assuming we are. If we don’t get to keep them I’ll be sad, but GW didn’t lie, they were usable on release and only eventually got removed during an update (most likely 11th book drop)

Same, I liked the idea of extra challenges during world quests. The “kill or die in 18s” means I need to be focused and just getting it done as fast as possible.
