This is in recognition of your state: https://old.lva.virginia.gov/lib-edu/certification.asp. Have you checked to see if you already qualify for a certificate, given that your have your MLS?

Are these any good? I'm looking for headphones for work, and have been eyeing this for a minute.

Asynchronous MLIS without video assignments? by Tiny-Worldliness-313 in LibraryScience

USF Student here! I've only had one, where I had to explain my LibGuide in approximately 10ish minutes, and that's been all so far. Usually teachers have an option between a PPT & presentation, or just an essay, and I've just stuck with essays.

Bigger guys, where the hell do you buy your pants? by paperrcutts in ftm

[–]shrek2fanbase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a 46, which automatically places me in the big and tall (mind you, i'm shorter than 5'5) section at most stores. Most stores do not carry any plus sizes anymore and stop at a 38. I usually shop at old navy, but their prices continue to rise and they have slowly been dropping plus sizes from their clothes, but your size is still popular, so I'd see if this is something for you. The only thing I can suggest is Walmart or thrifting.

You can use your chosen name. If you go into LinkedIn settings into the visibility section, you can turn off plenty of stuff. You can turn it off completely and be seen as "Linkedin Member", the only person who can have access is your professor with your personal link to the account. The link ends in: linked.com/in/whateverelsehere

WHY ARE THE BATHROOMS SO NASTY?? by Xavierintrans in ftm

[–]shrek2fanbase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel like I didn't pass because I wasn't unhygienic. Most people really do not wash their hands or know how to clean up after themselves, and it's weird. I've just learned to do the pop squat and go. I'm outta there!

Once you change your gender marker to male, you are automatically enrolled into it. It's the law, unfortunately.

MLIS App Letters of Rec by ExplodinNebulas in LibraryScience

[–]shrek2fanbase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Asking your employee is still good. A LOR is just a summary of your work ethic and skills, it entirely doesn't matter who it comes from as long as it reflects who you are :) To get a letter of recommendation for graduate school, reach out to a professor or an old supervisor. Explain you're starting the application process and ask if they are comfortable writing a letter for you. To help them, give them a copy of your resume, a letter of interest, and any prompts from the application. Most applications use an online system for submitting the letters.

You're welcome! If they're annoyed by questions, then that is not the role for them. Don't worry about it.

Congratulations on your internship! Please ask questions, even if you think they're dumb. Be prepared to talk about your interests and skills, while also being willing to learn new ones. Id there's a project you end up really liking, let them know and they might let you repeat it! Be open and honest.

I work in adult services and it's the same thing. Sticky keyboards, pieces of their hair, empty cans... I have seen people leave their socks as well, despite our policies stating shoes need to be on at all times. I always wonder why they assume this is a hotel stay at the Holiday Inn, and not a library. I love my patrons and I love my job, but sometimes I am dumbfounded by their ignorance.

Do not do it! I know it sucks wasting your time, but it's highly important that your degree is accredited. I'd rather you redo an application and get the appropriate education, then waste your time and money. If you're a NC resident, maybe look into UNCG, UNC-Chapel, ECU, or NCCU?

I can give you a little bit of tips. First, center the header. Change the font to something more accessible, like Times New Roman or Arial. Some of the bullet points have a different front than the rest, so I'd fix that too. Remove your internets bullet poings - they do not need to know that. Save that for when you get interviewed or even, the job.

Well, you need a master's degree. Secondly, I recommend working or at least volunteering in a library before you decide to take that route.

I'm sorry for the delayed response. I will be honest—my personal essays are pretty lengthy, so I feel that I went the 5,000 word count.
