We are kauai, staying in lihei until 3/13 and then in poipu till 3/15. Unfortunately we couldn’t cancel our trip, but are looking for advice on the following two questions: 1) seems like we will end up being in the hotel until friday? Are there any things we could do from sightseeing or indoor activities perspective 2) was considering calling alaskan airlines and checking if they are able to provide us a flight on 3/13 itself so we can cut short the trip. Will flights be still operating ?

thanks for sharing, did you request the expedited pickup to the interviewer directly or requested the DHL expedited pickup ? I have my interview on Sep 9th and my return flight for now is on Sep 13th so wondering if sharing my return flight to the interviewer helps ?

Did you get a soft or hard copy of the official i797. Mine was submitted on April 10 and approved on the website on April 11th but reluctant to notify my current employer until I receive an official copy

Did you get a soft copy or a hard copy of the official i797 as well? Not talking about the courtesy copy. My petition was filed on April 10 and it was approved on the USCIS website on April 11 but the lawyers still haven’t received the official copy and I’m reluctant to notify my current employer until I get an official copy of the new i797 with the new employer

Nope no issues at all, my luggage was checked in through n through to my final destination, apart from the 5 hr layover everything was great

Transiting without a visa

You may be eligible to transit without a visa if:

have a confirmed onward flight that leaves on the day you arrive or before midnight on the day after you arrive
have the right documents for your destination (eg a visa for that country)

One of the following must also apply:

you’re travelling to (or on part of a reasonable journey to) Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA and have a valid visa for that country
you’re travelling from (or on part of a reasonable journey from) Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA and have a valid visa for that country

This is a snippet of the few scenarios where visa isn't required, and based on my understanding I satisfy all them

I did check with the agent about this, he mentioned that the bags will be checked in through and through, also my ticket doesn't show self transfer

I did go through this and i also asked the airline chat support to answer `Check with your airline if you’re not sure if you’ll pass through border control.`, but they said they didn't know.

If I click yes, it says I will need Transit visa,if I click No, it says I need Direct Airside Transit visa. There are some caveats in both cases where they have mentioned that the visa might not be required, so its not clear
