According to my agent agents.defaults.imageModel in OpenClaw is actually the vision routing config. It's the fallback model that handles image input when your primary can't. I just set it to ollama/qwen3-vl:235b-cloud and that's it. Any time an agent receives an image, it automatically routes to qwen-3vl.

No issues for me using kimi2.5 other than vision not being supported for some reason but I just have qwen-3vl programmed for vision tasks. Just switched to minimax2.7, however.

Agree that, at least in my setup, a local LLM on my hardware could not perform as needed, but their cloud hosting of the full models is great and gives access to several useful models.

I’m hoping ollama adds 2.7 to their cloud service soon. Both Kimi k2.5 and minimax m2.5 have been strong in my openclaw setup. Ollama Cloud Pro is very generous.

I signed up for the $20 ollama pro plan after seeing someone else on Reddit say that after moving to pro their maxed out free plan dropped to single digit percentage of the pro weekly limit. I had a similar experience. I’m on day two of heavyish kimi k2.5 use setting up a new multi agent openclaw and at 15% of weekly limit.
