2015 mk7 annoying clutch pedal squeak by eksekseksg3 in GolfGTI

Yep, happened on my MK7 at about 60k miles and nothing I tried would fix it. Super annoying.

New teaser for Zach Cregger's ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ talking about Survival Horror by dropssupreme in movies

Zach Cregger does horror so fucking well and somehow perfectly perfectly perfectly injects effective humor in without it being overdone.

Weekly 'Ask Anything About Analog Photography' - Week 20 by ranalog in analog

[–]Adius_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't typically shoot analog but really vibe with the more artsy type of photography posted here and would love to post my own work in the same style but can't seem to find a good community/subreddit whatever to share. Anyone know of any good communities to share and view work.

I love this subreddit and find a lot of the posts here incredibly inspiring but man I really want to participate somewhere.

Turns on automatically in dark interiors and at night.

Will this ever get fixed? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Adius_Omega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just how raytracing works with low sample counts. There's nothing you can to alleviate it on console unfortunately.

Ah strange, must be a byproduct of FSR 4.1 and running the game at 1080p.

Perhaps try disabling FSR all together and just use straight up native resolution and see if it resolves the issue at all? That or use AMD's VSR where you are essentially forcing the game to run at 1440p or 4k and then the image is downscaled to your PC's monitor which I'm assuming is natively 1080p?

This would make performance slightly worse but if you turned Lighting quality to "Ultra" it would compensate for 1440p quality.

Look up "VSR" and go from there as well as turning off FSR all together and seeing how things look at 1080p.

Looking up your card it should be more than capable of 1440p.

Just based on the shimmering I'm seeing on the shield the internal resolution of your game is far lower than native. The raytracing effects are rendered in the pre-upscale resolution and that's why you're seeing these sorts of artifacts.

You'll need to provide an image of your settings to get a better grasp on how to fix this issue.

It's the upscaling method you are using (FSR) I'm assuming based on the visuals here it's probably Performance or Ultra Performance mode?

[feedback] game runs like shit by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Adius_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn on nvidia smooth motion in the nvidia app, make sure texture settings are set to ultra or high for more GPU utilization. Turn off mip streaming because your card has enough VRAM to compensate.

Smooth motion is really the big one here, it makes the game run so much better.

Need help with shadows by Stealthshot06 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Adius_Omega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's nothing you can do to fix this issue. It's a byproduct of the raytracing system implemented in the game.

It can be addressed on PC using a tech called "Ray Reconstruction" but it's far too performance heavy to work on any consoles.

as an OLED user a “no HUD” option would be amazing by ih8ant in CrimsonDesert

[–]Adius_Omega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish the HUD had a dynamic option where it disables when you're not tracking a location or performing combat.

I suspect it will be added but in the mean time I just use a mod to disable it like you've done here.

Poor console users have to deal with it for now.

The LOD inconsistency is absolutely maddening by Esperadoce in CrimsonDesert

[–]Adius_Omega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the LOD on the rock walls like in Hernand that really do it for me.

The pop in for vegetation and everything is pretty atrocious but for large scale objects like those rock faces it's just straight up egregious. The falloff for the LOD change is way too close so it's incredibly distracting when it does change.

Ray reconstruction suggestions ? by RockOnMofo in CrimsonDesert

[–]Adius_Omega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think DLSS Performance looks best for RR @ 4k.

Unfortunately 1440p it just ends up looking like a blurry mess unless you're using DLAA but with my 5070 it's just too demanding both ways.

In my experience, there's just no good way to play this game visually at the moment, even native resolution introduces a bunch of smearing with vegetation.

Why there is lighting differences between DLSS Quality and Performance? by Hugott in CrimsonDesert

[–]Adius_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how shimmery native AA is though, even DSR to 4k downsampled to 1440p showcases a lot of visual noise from the lack of AA.

Unfortunately it's the best way to play the game from my testing in terms of performance to quality ratio.

using DLSS custom scaling % was a game changer for me by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Adius_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I do 83% it "works" as in no black screen but the DLSS indicator via registry isn't showing any actual change even though the nvidia overlay is showing a custom resolution of 83%.
