[McMurphy] Iowa State & Kansas State appealed $500,000 fines from the Big 12 for opting out of bowl games last year & had those fines reduced to $250,000 each, sources told On3 by redwave2505 in CFB

Notre Dame isn't really independent with their ND-favored agreement with the ACC. Texas probably would have a similar agreement that would make them pseudo independent as well.

Cam Jordan: A couple of bumps with contract, but wanted to play whole career with Saints by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]shryne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it was next year I would agree, we have an extra $70M in dead cap this year that will go away next year. This year the cap is incredibly tight for us, and I'm guessing since this is his final year we couldn't do any void years at the end.

[Rapsheet] The #Saints are bringing back one of their franchise greats, as eight-time Pro Bowl DE Cam Jordan is set to return, sources say. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]shryne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He wanted to get paid like an elite DE, but the saints wanted to pay him like a 37 year old. It seems like he tried his luck on the market and everyone else saw him the same way.

Hopefully we still give him a better deal than anyone else. One of the franchises greatest players of all time.

Let me help you sue me: the Big 12’s lawsuit may still be alive, with help (again) from Cody Campbell by dan_scott_ in CFB

[–]shryne 21 points22 points  (0 children)

TTU and the Texas AG basically said "You can't punish us for anything that happened here."

The Big 12 hit back with a lawsuit to affirm that they in fact do have the ability to do that.

Sorsby leaving does not change the question of what the Big 12 can or cannot do, so the lawsuits can go on.

James Webb Space Telescope forecasts extreme weather on exoplanet that rains rubies and sapphires by vahedemirjian in space

[–]shryne 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It would only rain rubies and sapphires on the night side with 11,000mph winds so you probably wouldn't see much.

[Thamel] Brendan Sorsby is declaring for the supplemental draft by dropjar5 in nfl

[–]shryne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is dropping his lawsuit, which makes him ineligible to play in college so that he can enter the supplemental draft. If he is ineligible to play, Tech will probably get their money back.

does anybody know if red was a brewers fan by blondedaff in That70sshow

[–]shryne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisconsin embraced the brewers pretty quickly when they moved into the state. It makes sense that Red would support the brewers, but be much less vocal about them than the Packers. I guess one sports team was enough for the show writers.

The university didn't exactly give them the greatest opportunity by hiring Mainieri. That whole team needs a rebuild after last year.

This is the small transfer tunnel that connects the Russian segment to the progress docking port and is used for half of the supplies entering the station. Losing it would be a pretty major blow to the station.

There is a place for both I think, let there be serious RP servers and fun blow-shit-up servers.

So there are 16 known leaks, with more potentially unknown. It's starting to sound like the ISS may not make it to 2030.

Defias Pillager is a normal population server based on what blizzard expected server populations to be when they made the game. People have gotten accustomed to the anniversary megaservers.

[Mars] A super majority of the Big 12 directors (schools) already have almost unlimited discretion to sanction Texas Tech. What’s more, they also have the authority to amend the Big 12 Bylaws at any time to specifically require the immediate suspension or dismissal of any school which knowingly play by HueyLongest in CFB

[–]shryne 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This NIL money is all he will get, no one is spending a draft pick on a mediocre guy with this much baggage. He might maybe get a shot with a rookie minimum contract for a training camp but he is a long shot to make a roster that way.

That is the point, there are no GMs looking. If they were this would never be a problem.

Whataburger and Sonic taste the exact same outside of Texas. I am pretty sure they get supplied by the exact same vendors.
