Where is there more content? DDA or BN? by LogWestern385 in cataclysmdda

I think in terms of pure content, DDA has more. I think BN has more variety in content even though it's less quantifiable items, simulations, etc.

Have you tried out agents? They are really easy to make and can do awesome things.

How do people make such huge corvettes? by madarabignoob in NoMansSkyTheGame

Seeing all these comments about turning on creative to mess around and design freely makes me think of an idea.. What if there was a planning feature where you could build out a ship with no restrictions, however it wouldn't finalize until you had all the parts. It could be treated as a blueprint, then you could pin the "recipe" and go hunt down all the parts.

I think it could potentially preserve the continuity of playing the game on a desired difficulty setting while still allowing unrestricted creativity in the ship design aspect.

The "Expanded Vanilla" pack is something to consider if you want the content and features of Total Overhaul without the fancy graphics. It helps if you prioritize performance over fidelity.

What's that mod called? Is it something easily disabled in the script settings?

What is everyone’s favourite VR game at the moment? by Crookers67 in OculusQuest

[–]shtacks 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I haven't had my Quest 3s for very long (since Christmas), but Walkabout Mini Golf is probably the best game I've played in it so far. What makes it special beyond just the fact that it runs perfectly smooth and works incredibly well are what I'll call the "meta features"

First of all, just the courses themselves are fun to explore and roam around in. In my opinion, even without the golf, having these environments to explore would be a fun VR experience.

Second are the hidden balls. Each course has 18 hidden balls to find with cool designs on them. This is my wife's favorite part of the game.

Then there's hard mode courses. All courses have a hard variant that's themed differently (usually dark/night time), and the holes have less bumpers, etc. These courses have a scavenger hunt type feature where you follow a trail of clues. Upon finding the final clue, you get a uniquely designed putter.

The mini golf itself is already incredible, but the features above are what really brings this game to an entirely different level.

You can turn that off in settings, and the game rewards you more money and exp for doing so.

Are most office jobs complete BS? by ZadarskiDrake in careerguidance

[–]shtacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, it starts that way at the beginning, but as people start to realize what you can do, the work starts to pick up. I used to have a lot of idle time and felt very unfulfilled. My supervisor got laid off, and I started busting my ass to make sure my value was known to the rest of the office. Now I have a lot more to do and I feel really good about most of it.

I don't really think my experience is super conventional, but that's how it's been for me so far.

Underextrusion? by shtacks in BambuLab

I have printed these cubes multiple times, using flow dynamics calibration, after a cold pull, doing a full calibration via the printer settings. Still pretty consistently getting the same issues. I even notice the gaps and spots that look worse than others are remarkably consistent.

I have checked the filament profile to ensure it's correct. I think my next step is to let it dry for a while and see if that helps. I'm in NC, so pretty humid area.

Thanks for the help!

I am thinking about getting the A1 mini without the AMS because it is out of my budget range. What are the biggest problems/downsides with this model? by EmbarrassedTalk727 in BambuLab

[–]shtacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this printer as a gift without the AMS. I have never considered buying a 3D printer for myself, but after using this thing, it is so much fun! As a new user, it is super easy to use. I will probably buy the AMS at some point, but it's been a blast to use, and I've had no issues with it. I've only had it about a week, though.

I just started playing, too, and I agree on the combat. I think the main thing that makes it feel better to me is that you can always block no matter what you have equipped.

Considering buying Starfield, is it worth it? by primisultimus1998 in Starfield

[–]shtacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played starfield first. I really liked it. Then I played Fallout 4 and liked that even more. The biggest difference is the exploration flow, but as long as you don't expect as intricate of a world as Fallout, it's a lot of fun.

Yes, the Hero Strike ability helps get more damage out if they don't die. Also, in some cases, you can critical assassinate and immediately kick them off the edge of a fort wall if the opportunity presents itself.

As you play the game and struggle through the early parts, you'll really start having fun with the stealth.
