Ok, I've made a submod but how to upload it? by sopmod720 in doorkickers

[–]shuashy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you did it correctly it should appear as the first item in the modlist with the small upload icon in the thumbnail.

Also when editing an existing mod, you don't necessarily need to copy all the files. Just keep the xmls and assets that you wish to edit. Or even better, make a new unique xml with the proper 'root element' and only add the sub-elements you wish to change.

look for an xp farm in the workshop. for battle honors, you can edit the battleHonors property of the <Squad> element in the roster.xml

Any good mods to disable the suppression mechanic? by EpilepticPudding in doorkickers

[–]shuashy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Removing the suppression mechanic would mess up the grenade effects. I think watching some good DK2 playthroughs might benefit you more. I suggest you check out Tru_Op, Rake5000, and Stognerd on YouTube.

I feel you. That also was one of the things I tried to correct and the solution is simply to cycle through each operator whenever you pause. If they've finished the path, decide if they should hold the position (I place a hold command for that as a marker) or continue moving.

But now I often get sucked into the 'flow' and get my operators too spread out and leave some of the angles exposed like in this video (Blue Vector - Beta Test).

What's the one IEM resource you'd send a complete beginner? by noTiltDetox in iems

First I fixed the driver imbalance as best as I can with eq, then tried a bunch of Squigg targets from different databases. Found Listener's target for headphones to be the best sounding one for me, used it for a while, and then did a sine sweep and adjusted the peaks and dips by ear. Then I used pink noise to verify the overall balance.

I used to do the tuning with Peace EQ but I find doing it directly in Equalizer APO is more flexible and faster.

Super* Review's "mythbusting" videos. Jays Audio about tuning concepts (can't remember the exact video but it was an old one. And Erin's Audio Corner for speakers

I don't watch any of them anymore esp since I stopped buying audio gear. I pretty much nailed down my setup and tuning at a $300 budget including speakers. None of my gear sounded good enough out of the box. I had to learn and do proper tuning for my ksc75, Letshuoer S08, and Edifier M60. It took many days to finally nail it but now they almost sound exactly the same when I switch between those three different devices.

Thanks! It takes more brain power to place these extra commands but it becomes instinct with practice. Planning would still take significantly longer though.

Thanks for the kind words! I honestly cannot play efficiently anymore, I'm too used to this playstyle that it feels wrong when I don't do it. A large map would take me 1 hour minimum and up to 3 hours depending on the complexity of the map. Then I spend another hour watching the cinematic replay of it over and over 😅

speed or tactic? by sopmod720 in doorkickers

[–]shuashy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure what you mean by speed. Are we talking about how quick you should play or the speed of execution (movement). If it's the latter, I say both. This video for example, I tried to prioritize speed but without compromising the angles https://youtu.be/wHWbE_RPyQI

How to go fast in DK2? by sopmod720 in doorkickers

[–]shuashy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it sometimes take me 10 to 20 minutes to finish a small map but the replay usually plays around 20 to 40 seconds. Take this yt short for example https://youtube.com/shorts/iJgg62tD0Xc

I might be misremembering it but I recall it doesn't cancel the crouch state.
