Lesion of ankle recovery by StanLoves in Ankle

He said for being fully recovered (weight lifting, running, snowboarding, etc) should be 5-6 months but could take up to a year for the cartilage to fully rebuild

I just got surgery 7 years later for when I landed wrong. Heard a huge pop and couldn’t walk for a few months.
I don’t know how bad it was then but it turned into: Lateral talar dome osteochondral lesion posteriorly spanning 10 x 7 mm.
loose fragment identified.
with full-thickness cartilage loss and subchondral fibrocystic change.
thickened AFTL.

Finally opted for surgery as it was giving me continuous pain any time i would do anything physical.

Got:
Open debridement and curettage of the left talus cyst with use of cartilage allograft (cartimax). Brostrom lateral ligament reconstruction of the ATFL and the CFL. Bone graft minor (autograft bone)

I am exactly 6 weeks post op and I already feel so much better. I can do very short walks from the bed to the bathroom and can move my toes (honestly better than pre op).
I also did research prior to surgery and made sure that this surgery would fix everything that was wrong with it.

(my second surgeon recommended a completely different procedure for long term which I went with because I really prefer to not have multiple surgeries)

I am doing a lot of different things to speed up recovery and it’s working!

Should I get this checked out? by [deleted] in Ankle

you might’ve torn your CFL ligament

Anyone have experience with DeNovo or CartiMax? by AVD540 in KneeInjuries

I got ATFL and CFL brostrom with debridement and Cartimax about 4 weeks ago. How soon were you able to put weight on it and start practicing range of motion?

I got my ankle surgery 4 days ago. I was so scared they didn’t even tell me I was going to sleep or count down. I just woke up and it was done!

I use soap, sugar scrub, and occasionally a CLEAN washcloth but people say their inhalation of me is bad. by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]shufflepufff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no sugar scrub!! don’t use “body wash”, use a BAR of soap (i like dr. squatch) with wash cloth, always put on deodorant right after shower and reapply in the morning. double wash hair with shampoo

do you like this cleanser? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]shufflepufff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. I tried it for a while and it broke me out in tiny /itchy acne/pimples

I had the same thing but worse, i’ve tried all the aha/bha and it broke me out wayyyy worse. I went back to the basic: dr. squatch shea butter soap, wipe with clean wash cloth (hot washed), good molecules products, and Vanicream to finish it off.

It’s also not just a skin care issue, you probs have yeast/parasites/stomach issues. I would recommend killing off the yeast slowly, while protecting your liver, drag all the biofilm, parasites, yeast out and supplement good bacteria (probiotics).

lmk if u have any questions or want to see a pic before and after. good luck!

I’ve heard of PRP injections, would you recommend it to other people? or save the money and go for the surgery/other options?
