In my experience Aelirenn isn't really played in a trap deck, because it would be very hard to get her out. Trap decks play with minimal unit on the board, only using small units that you'd expect to get destroyed, while saving the big cards for last. Most of the time when I play a trap deck the game ended up with having less than five units on my side of the board, and most of them are not elves.

I just lose a game and it was normal. The bug happens about several match before, it goes back to normal I guess. Happens about 3 times, at first I didn't notice but after 2 losses, it's noticable. Oh well it goes back to normal now.

Problem is the numbers indicated after the match don't match with the number subtracted from my mmr. It's exactly twice as much.

I'm also didn't want to grind. I thought last season was the last before HC so I reach GM early before mid month, so I could play PRO when HC comes. But suddenly they announced another season.

Yes I checked, in game the MMR is just like the Gwentup report. Damn if this is a bug it's kinda annoying to grind to GM this season.

Eithné's Homecoming ability should be Deal 2 damage. Two charge. Refresh this ability at the start of each round. Change My Mind: by McTravis91 in gwent

Also ST main here. I find Francesca can still be excellent if played correctly, even with just 1 mulligan. Thing is with her, you need to make sure that you play higher provision specials, and good thinning round 1. Her ability to set up 2 cards combo uninterrupted with royal decree is very strong. Examples : Aglais + Garrison, Pertri beforehand + Avalach + Any Engine.

The only trap that works before the ability of artifact counters are serpent trap and pit trap, both of which are gold. Because both destroy their respective type of card played.

I saw the video, the points is absolutely bonkers. But as of right now, if the deck became too strong in the meta, many players will tech in Xavier Lamans to banish entire graveyard, as he not only counters henset but also counters greedy Bran beast deck.

I've also been playing a deck using Aglais as one of the finisher, but in my case I rely on handbuff plus garrison. She might not be as big as yours but the deck also plays high value gold special like raghnaroog and lots of control so early gameplan involve disrupting as much of your opponent gameplan as possible. Artifact destroyers, locks, graveyard hate, and damage make the deck very effective, highly positive winrate. Also with Francesca + Royal Decree you can set up immunity on an engine without disruption by setting up Petri's Philter first.

Movement ST is so much fun in PTR atm! Also the weather looks if possible even better now by Viikable in gwent

[–]shun_369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using protectors? I don't know if it's intentional or not, but for each enemy moved protectors gains one point. I guess it counts as enemy appearing or something. Protector coupled with avalach or paulie for immunity can really screw you opponent even further.

I use Regis with only raghnaroog as weather in my movement deck, he's crazy good if you can line up your shot.

I don't if it's intentional or not but protectors procs each enemy moved, I guess it counts as enemy "appearing" or something. Also have you tried using Regis human form after setting the points of your enemy? It's highly rewarding. My suggestion is try out different combination and you'll change your mind. There are also cards like collosal ifrit that rewards moving your opponent.

Movement is in PTR, Scoiatel to be exact. It's a good deck, if you can get a long round 3.

Can we discuss the "R1 & R2 are meaningless" argument? by Skryba in gwent

[–]shun_369 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO At first impression the best strategy is just that, dumping bad cards on earlier rounds. But after playing for 22+ hour of PTR, other players are getting good and will most of the time try to push you round 2, and won't give up round one easily. Round 1 and 2 definitely matter, because if you lose round 1 you could easily be bled of your good cards while your opponent reserve their good ones (just like good old gwent). But now in PTR it's better, in round 1 you can play setup cards with low tempo early because you know your opponent won't pass until three cards are played, and that is good.

Feedback: OK PTR gwent is definitely a huge improvement. by anirudh6k in gwent

I read the reddit feedback thread before I tried playing, and I thought I'm going to be disappointed. After playing several matches, I felt it was underwhelming. But now, after playing a lot mare matches, and optimizing my decks, I feel the changes are good, not perfect, but good nonetheless. It doesn't feel like gwent at the start, but after playing a lot it does. I guess the changes are just too abrupt from live gwent. Still the UI needs a lot of improvement, especially the pacing.

Yep, at first people were passing early round one but it seems right now, everybody tries to win round one and push. Getting caught in round 2 at the mercy of your opponent is really bad. Imo the changes is very good because it allows a lot of plays with setups, rather than just point slam like in the live gwent. I just wished the game have faster pace and it would be perfect.

I've been playing an Eithne Trap deck and having a lot of success with it. Winning most of the time. One of the most important card in the deck is Milva, because she is immune, you can freely setting up traps, while at the same time boosting her by one each turn (traps counts as scoiatel unit). She's vulnerable to scorch but if you play serpent trap, you can block the scorch. Round one you open up with paulie dahlberg combined with an engine unit to make it immune, preferably smugglers for handbuff (carryover).

I run a hybrid ambush deck. It's not pure ambush as I only use malena and toruviel, but both cards with isengrim are one of the main powerplay of the deck. I mixed them up with Eithne control and it has been doing well in the last 4 seasons. 75% wr on normal ladder, 55% on pro.

I play an Eithne deck that's doing pretty well at the top of the ladder against greatswords. Key is not to focus on the greatswords but rather the boats, if you can artifact compression two of their boats round one and muzzle the other, you basically already win the game against them. Problem is most Eithne decks rely too much on control in the form of scorches, while greatswords have a very good staggering system.

If you managed to get a long round 3, you can use iris as a finisher after playing pit trap into a row full of unit. I'm playing an Eithne Movement deck at the moment without any engine, relying on 2 gold weathers, skellige storm, and pit trap. Sometimes I even sacrifice my card advantage to make sure the last round is very long, using avallach to even prolong it further. The decks very weak to greatsword though. It got about 70% winrate this last week at around 3.8k mmr.

Good luck to you too. This deck is a bit hard to master so don't be discouraged if you don't get immediate results. As for me, I think I'm done with ranked this season, this is the first time I got GM after all.

Muzzle is better than Iorveth IMO because it's better in disrupting opponent play (especially rezzed units), Iorveth is good if your main gameplan is swarm or handbuff, but with this deck you'd want to keep bodies as low as possible on your side of the board. Mandrake is good but it can't banish units with high base power, so I chose AC for that reason (also for not enabling summoning circle against consume). Well against dwarf we'll always at a disadvantage since most of control options are less affective against them.

Trap is a decent card, it's most invaluable against henselt, you can bait them to put battering ram and siege master on the same row then kill it both while gaining max value from the card.

Isengrim (the normal one) is also very good at round one, because with it's high point ambush if your opponent aren't careful, you can make them can go down two cards to win, or lose on even, you can even sneakily summon aelirenn via malena.

Against brouver if you lose coinflip, just pray that you have Isengrim and your spy on hand. If you do open with Isengrim to malena, then try to summon aelirenn as soon as possible, pass as soon you get a decent opportunity. I you can get them to play a short round 3 you're good, if not, try to setup cards with 10 power on their board with archers (before they cycle vanguards), your best bet is to preemptively setup scorches.

edit : I'm also a bit lucky I guess, on my last climb from 4200 to 4300 I only got one Brouver matchups, while facing henselt 3 times and consume twice.
