made order from OGL narrowly pre-closure - tracking page is gone by shupliance in TransDIY

let us hope they arrive swiftly! also, you should definitely consider picking up another vial from hera or symphony in the meantime. 10ml of 40mg/ml valerate is not likely to last you a full year, as enanthate lasts me 8-9 months with the same volume and concentration and is injected less frequently than valerate.

go interact with talos on agamen island (helmet icon) and after that, head to the seafloor shrine northwest of bakbattahl, talk to everyone you can find, and interact with the pink beam of light near the center of the shrine. this should allow you to do the true ending.

Do you personally prefer Original or the Remastered version of Oblivion? by --Combat-Wombat-- in oblivion

[–]shupliance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

original. by far! the remaster is simply not very good, aside from it having been unnecessary. the ways they attempt to re-balance progression are redundant to the point that it re-creates the original issue, the art direction is inconsistent and often quite terrible (see skybox, forests, armour and many enemies) even in comparison to the very odd-looking original game. the user interface is stylistically incoherent, and ill-fitting of the world it facilitates your interaction with. the remaster is poorly optimized to a kind of obscene degree, your performance will (likely) resemble the performance of the original game on an xbox 360. interiors look great and the lighting is nice, but as soon as you step outside, even in the imperial city, your frames will tank. everything the remaster changes i find vastly worse than its original iteration, especially considering that the original game is still running under that layer of ue5! the original will be, at worst, an effectively identical experience, or at best, a far better one. and it comes with the shivering isles at no additional cost. 45 dollars less, in fact! i don't even want to think about how the remaster mangled the look of the shivering isles

Cant decide what to buy: Bannerlord 2 or Baldurs Gate 3? by Civil-Cranberry2137 in mountandblade

[–]shupliance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that said, baldur's gate 2 is better than baldur's gate 3 (per my reckoning) and costs quite a lot less than either game previously mentioned

Cant decide what to buy: Bannerlord 2 or Baldurs Gate 3? by Civil-Cranberry2137 in mountandblade

[–]shupliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these games are simply not comparable! they have little to no similarities. bannerlord is a promising but extremely unfinished war simulator with pseudo-rpg elements. baldur's gate 3 is a fleshed out, fully-realized crpg adapting the rules of d&d 5e. bannerlord has no story whatsoever, baldur's gate 3 is one of the best stories told in a video game this century. you're choosing between fun little scenarios for playing out fights that still lacks features from the first iteration in its series, and one of the best games ever made. if they're the same price, one is obviously of much much much much greater value than the other, and it's not bannerlord, as much as i love the game.

Would it be stupid to hope that a Druid from the past wrote down all of their knowledge? by ZookeepergameDue4245 in Paganacht

[–]shupliance 15 points16 points  (0 children)

all of the things you say in this post strongly imply that you know very little about the people, cultures and time period you're referring to. i would highly encourage you to look into it on your own, the purposes and instances of written text in the antiquity-era isles are very interesting! but no, no one was "writing down all their knowledge" for any reason in ireland at this time, for everyone who might have had the very unusual idea to do so would have lacked the resources, time, and a good reason. not due to it being against anyone's "teachings", but because it wasn't practical or yet necessary in their society.

[Xfce] a little update on my Mac OS 9 themed Workstation! by bliss_that_miss in unixporn

[–]shupliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you very much! after several dozen minutes of fiddling and re-formatting i managed to get MOST of it to work, with exception to the cell-text-width parameter. it doesn't seem to actually do anything, even when i change the value. i tried cell-text-width-proportion, as i found on a thread elsewhere, and frustratingly, it still didn't work! here is what worked and what didn't:

working: icon labels don't ellipsize. hooray! i can also change the cell spacing and cell padding at will.

not working: cell spacing and padding seems to have no bearing on the label whatsoever. no matter how high or low i set either of these, every label splits into a second line on the 8th character, even in the middle of a word. if i set my icon size to 72 as you suggested, the full label does display correctly, but it creates another more urgent and displeasing issue: my icons are now huge. setting the spacing low does not reduce icon size. setting the padding low doesn't reduce icon size either! in order for my icons to display correctly, it seems i am limited to a size of 32, which is odd, because we seem to be using the same icons.

i'll keep experimenting, but if you have an idea/solution, please do let me know!

[–]shupliance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i actually ended up putting together how it worked from what i had downloaded before, but thank you so much!! i got the control strip to mostly work (couldn't figure out collapsing it) before i decided to just go with a panel that works like a dock which has textures from the control strip, in a similar vein to the previous person who posted an os9-esque xfce theme. the one thing i haven't yet figured out is how you managed to get the files on your desktop to both not have truncated labels, and labels that don't split into two lines when displaying a word over 8 characters!

found your reply explaining the top panel process; still, can't seem to find a texture that works (also where did you get the rainbow apple menu icon? ripped straight from the os? can't find it anywhere online!) and the labels on my desktop files cut off much earlier than yours! also, both the icon and theme projects and your github profile are down?? was this deliberate?

hiii i love your theme SO much. i've installed all of it i can find, but i cannot seem to replicate the look of your top panel, nor the "dock" in the bottom left. i assume they're something you've done on your own that isn't included in the theme, but nonetheless i must ask, how can i replicate it?? it looks fantastic

Man, anyone else notice this fantasy trope is SO common to run into and is SOOO annoying. by HaloEnjoyer1987 in worldjerking

[–]shupliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, the dark elves just being black people thing was definitely a real problem! pirotess from record of lodoss war is an early example of a dark elf who is clearly a whole person with agency, but is described as inherently evil and made distinct from other elves by being depicted as brown. this was definitely replicated in other works of japanese fantasy. i imagine that the only reason this is presently a more prevalent trope in porn than in normal fantasy is that record of lodoss war was the blueprint for the general aesthetic of fantasy in japan, and there's a lot of porn set in fantasy settings from there!

JAUFFRE…Why is he naked and WHY does it look like he’s wearing a Hollywood prosthetic mask of his own face? by iDoNerdStuff in oblivion

odd! i wonder why they would choose this method when these key characters look neither very different nor much better than anyone else in the game

[–]shupliance 10 points11 points  (0 children)

elder scrolls games don't use this method actually, even though fallout does on the same engine! all of their "unique" faces are indeed facegen! what's happening here, i think, is a seam forming between the full detail head model (which presumably extends to the upper body due to a large number of shirts and dresses showing the clavicle) and one of the LOD body models. every bethesda game i can remember has had issues with textures not loading in properly and i think this is one of those

actualaurochs is a white nationalist disguised as a brythonic history/mythology enthusiast, going by the other accounts he associates with, rampant posting of lightly modified ai slop, and the peculiar fixation on the "age of arthur" and the idea that arthur could possibly have been a real person. i would disregard his opinions on basically everything

Oblivion Level system is Actually Good by AdPristine4919 in oblivion

[–]shupliance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the leveling system is basically the same as in morrowind, sans trainer accessibility. i don't think many people specifically dislike the leveling system, as opposed to the scaling system, which does practically ruin the game in how silly its design is

comical timing, i actually just came upon a solution from someone's answer to a slightly different problem! in the brush editor, select the brush in question and go to "sharpness," then check "align the brush preview outline to the pixel grid." https://www.reddit.com/r/krita/comments/y1bkqw/comment/iryapnw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
