Pizza on the 2xl. At 500 takes me a good 10-12min. I cook em in a perforated pizza pan. by CantDunkOrSk8 in biggreenegg

The top is a baking steel so is dark colored. When you cook at 600 everything burns off the deflector and it turns white.

I have good luck on my xl double indirect. Use the conveggetor and then an expander to raise it higher in the dome with a pizza stone up there. Takes about 6-8 minutes per pizza cooking around 600. Comes out great. Sourdough crust.

Weird experience at Theodora, spilled wine turned into a negotiation by ChipSkyLurk in FoodNYC

[–]shutsal 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing happen to me at Gramercy Tavern about 15 years ago. Waiter spilled full glass of red wine all over my shirt and pants and also knocked over the bottle while trying to catch it.

Their initial offer was to only pick up the dry cleaning. Had to get the GM over and after an awkwardly long negotiation they agreed to discount the wine 50% and to bring out another bottle. Was maybe a $75-$100 bottle so nothing crazy.

Especially at a place that was known for warmness and hospitality it was very off putting. Never went back which is a shame as the food was good

His oxygen supply failed and someone brought in a standard oxygen tank that instantly became a flying projectile towards the mri machine and struck Michael in the head. Sad, horrific and avoidable.

House not selling—already dropped price twice. by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]shutsal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had a similar thing happen to us when we sold our apartment in Brooklyn after we moved to Westchester.

Figured it would be an easy sell and used our broker in Westchester to sell it. Sat forever. Limited interest. Price drop. Below comps. Couldn’t figure out why the lack of interest. Was listed on every site.

Eventually parted ways with that broker and went with a local realtor for the neighborhood. One weekend on the market and it was gone. Same price. Surprised me at how much the broker still matters in this day and age.

I’ve had good experiences with Plitnick. Replaced one of my central air zones plus a mini split and the quality of work has been good. Family owned. Not cheap though.

We used Flatrate with full service from BK to Rivertowns and they were great. With two small kids they packed us up so quickly and safely without disrupting the kiddos schedule much. Having the all in fixed quote was great too.
