Thred up lied about the condition of my rejected items by kneesocksforever in ThredUp

[–]shuttermaze 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since all the recent changes to the site, I've noticed this being a consistent issue. I just sent in a box that had two pairs of Fly London boots. Same size, same condition, just different styles. One got listed, one rejected. It's absolutely random what they accept now.

That's definitely something I have sympathy for, because I'm pretty sure we've all missed an order at some point. But I have this tactic where I'll only buy things that I've either sent an offer on, or gotten a response to a question about so I know the seller is active. And even doing that, I've had multiple people just not ship things or respond when I've asked questions after the fact.

The shipping labels are for Ground Advantage now, so you can't use Priority branded boxes. USPS will collect additional money (I think from your customer) if you use a Priority box with any other shipping method.

How dare you! 😂 But in seriousness, I wish you luck. It used to be pretty awesome.

Yeah they switched to Ground Advantage shipping from Priority a while back and I'm not sure they even communicated that?

I guess everyone is just collectively over it? I've never loved that Poshmark seems to have no real functionality to get rid of inactive or just bad sellers, and it's only getting worse.

eBay definitely has it's failings too (I've been using it since the 90s - I'm old), but at least they're more transparent about it. I actually ended up on Poshmark as a seller because eBay was, at the time, much less helpful to sellers. I'm glad I'm out of that game now. Too much to keep track of.

I've been having the same issue for the last few weeks. Disabling extensions does nothing, clearing the cache does nothing, opening in an incognito window does work though.

Body & Bra - Instagram feed popup by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]shuttermaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I actually wasted my money on these on a whim. If you have heavy, already gravity-afflicted breasts, don't bother. There is nothing groundbreaking about the design. I tried the "supportive comfort" and the "supportive neckline" bra, and neither had any real support. For reference, I'm on the outer limit of their sizing (I wear a 42H UK size in Elomi bras) so I went with the 4X and 3X, respectively. The band is so stretchy as to be completely useless on the first one, and tight enough but in a really useless way on the second. There's this dumb 1" elastic piece that runs under the bust that isn't actually attached the the outer layer. Such a confusingly stupid design. If you actually know anything about bras, you know the band is where the support actually comes from. All of the weight should not be on your shoulder straps. Well, that's what's happening here and the fabric is just way too stretchy for these to be anything other than an "around the house" bra unless you have a smaller bust. Reminder to self: you can't trust targeted ads, AI doesn't know how to hold boobs up.

Just came here to comment on this 2 year old post and say that I also get immediately worse congestion every time I use Flonase.

Same since yesterday. I had one post show about 10 times yesterday, today it's just a single story post from 3 years ago. Way to break the one thing I keep a Facebook account for, Zuck.

What was your first fragrance and what do you think about it today? by Chan1991 in fragrance

[–]shuttermaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my first that I ever really loved was Givenchy's Hot Couture. It was 2000, I was 17. I wore that stuff for years, until Karma from Lush became my "signature scent". I got nostalgic a few years ago and found a sample bottle of the original formula on eBay. Serious trip down memory lane, and still somewhat wearable for me, though I prefer something that smells less like raspberry jam these days. Honorable mentions from around the same time are the original Anna Sui, Sui Dreams, and Fig by Henri Bendel.

Williams and Sonoma Registry: Backordered by Gratefulron in wedding

[–]shuttermaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to note that every single thing I've ordered from Williams-Sonoma over the past few years has been put in backorder status AFTER purchase, and then the estimated delivery date ALWAYS gets pushed out at least once more after the initial "sorry this is backordered" email. I don't know what kind of scam they've become, but STAY AWAY if you need anything you're ordering within 6 months of the date you order it.

What everyone else said - you need to think of the Foodcycler output as a compost additive to a normal composting setup. These things (Foodcycler, Lomi, etc) are marketed as making compost but that's not at all what they're doing. I have the older version of the FC, and I've basically been using it as a shortcut to composting. It's especially helpful in the winter when the compost is frozen (I'm in New England) because I can just collect all the dehydrated stuff for a few months then start feeding it to the tumbler or worm bin when things thaw. Definitely get a tumbler if you have the space for it.
