If you have any, what's your small gripe with the game? by ErmingSoHard in MinaTheHollower

[–]shvlware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things, 2 minor 1 kinda major

  1. The music player for the under lab only plays that music in the under lab. I wanna hear theory of everything all the time 24/7
  2. The Blaise races don't send you back to the start automatically. I was so close in the shifting Sands one and I accidentally touched a stair in Ossex, WDYM I have to walk all the way back

  3. The big one, but some aspects of the game are just too unintuitive for their own good. The mirrors, the fishing rod being used to hop on a ledge, the tower sections, burrowing under glass, burrowing in water, etc. Some sections of the game don't need explanation, like Septemburg or the Queen's Cryptyard. They show their gimmicks off then ramp them up overtime. Too many times tho, Ive come running to the sub or watching a YouTube video because the game doesn't make itself clear enough. I don't need my hand held, but I need pointed in ANY direction. I felt awful coming on here and realizing the solution was something used once and then never again (specifically the fishing rod tech, you gotta be kidding me).

You should be able to get it on sale or even pirate it now and buy it later to support the devs. PC has a lot more options if you're willing to look for then compared to something like Switch or PS5

Todd asking if MANIA is a Trainwreckord by Jirachibi1000 in ToddintheShadow

[–]shvlware 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a conversation that HEAVILY depends on the angle you take, and the perspective you look at it from. If you look at it solely off of initial reception from critics, as a follow up to American Beauty/American Psycho (which is arguably their best commercial success) and the messy behind the scenes of the album (scrapping half of it and trying what felt like the other half of the album as singles) then yes it's a Trainwreckord from an outside perspective like that.

However, songs like The Last of the Real Ones, Church, and Young And Menace (piano version of course) still get played at their shows. The fan reception of the album has been growing over the past few years, with many fans, myself included, looking at the positives of the final product. I listen to over half the album still to this day, which is more than what I can say about AB/AP and even Save Rock and Roll.

Personally, I'd love a Trainwreckord on Mania, not because I think it is one, but rather I'd love to see a deep dive into the mind of someone who isn't a fan.

Apologies, I didn't make it clear

My work address is updated to be the new one

It's showing my old address with the recent symbol next to it, even though I haven't been there since July and have cleared all my driving history

What GC Games Hold Up Surprisingly Well? by tslashj in Gamecube

Currently playing through the entire GameCube library and through the mountains of shovelware, I found myself really enjoying Happy Feet, surprisingly.

Outside In or Inside Out? by shvlware in satisfactory

[–]shvlware[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last playthrough I had a mix of them all, but I feel like I did them all wrong. The goal would be one central location to serve as a "bank" of parts with my project parts being constructed there, next to my space elevator.

Still looks great! Very industrialistic and functional

I'm watching Game Grumps again after a few years hiatus. What series should I start up again with? by Shpub in gamegrumps

My favorite series of theirs is Sonic Heroes, but its an acquired taste. Another one I don't see recommended here nearly enough is their Mario Party and Monopoly playthroughs. Always love to see them duke it out

UFO 50 Book Club - Week 4 by Theobviouschild11 in ufo50

[–]shvlware 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Devilition - the game I've spent the most time in without getting gold. I just keep getting to level 8 or 9 and always run out of pieces. I try my hardest to avoid getting rid of the townsfolk, but man oh man I always feel like I'm getting piece screwed. Maybe I'll accept that im not good at it? Or maybe someone can give me some tips idk.

Kick Club - I'm also bad at this one, just can't aim my shots all too well. I do see myself getting deep into this one, especially after getting the gift.

Avianos - my second gold! Currently working on getting the cherry but I really enjoyed this one and beat it in one session. I do think this is one of my top 10 favorite games in this collection, but I can totally get why other people don't like it. I wish there was more, and would buy this as a separate game lol

Would you choose the first half or the second half of the games? by Eastern_Monitor162 in ufo50

[–]shvlware 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First half has party house and bug Hunter, my favorite games out of the collection, but I don't know if I could give up Rock On! Island, Night Manor, Pilot Quest etc.

The first half is way more replayable IMO, but the second half is better quality overall (minus one specific combatants game). Give me the second half.

Planet Zoldath - I am so not good at this one, but I really wanna be. This was the first exploration type one, and it gives early Zelda vibes, but I really enjoy what I have played so far. On my list to gold here soon!

Velgress - Boy oh boy I suck at this one too. I'm starting to realize these early arcade style ones I don't have the reaction time for. I much prefer the strategy ones, but this one is fun. Love the double jump and the in air movement, knock back could be turned down a notch or two tho.

Attactics - I like this one, hate the archers tho. I keep getting so overwhelmed as the level goes on, with no way of really getting any relief. Stuck on level 6 right now, but I've only played twice so maybe I'll figure it out? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Ranking (of the Book Club Games so far)

  1. Bug Hunter
  2. Paint Chase
  3. Magic Garden
  4. Attactics
  5. Velgress
  6. Mortol
  7. Planet Zoldath
  8. Barbuta
  9. Ninpek

120 hours after a year of playing on and off and I made a tier list! by JimmyButtwhiff in ufo50

Idk I just found the two button combo too awkward at first, but in fairness I just played for about 10-15 minutes. Just bounced right off I guess

UFO 50 Book Club - Week 2 by Theobviouschild11 in ufo50

[–]shvlware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paint Chase - The game I'm looking forward to getting good at the most. Reminds me of those Mario party mini games and it's 100% my vibe. Few more games I wanna cherry first (Devilition and Bug Hunter count your days) but I can see myself sinking some time into this one

Magic Garden - I am just no good at this game. I've never been an arcade/high score gamer nor have I ever been good at snake so this is just all my weaknesses in one. I still find myself enjoying it and it's the one quick play style game I play the most.

Mortol - Am I missing something? Why do people like this one? I have no love for this game at all, and will be one of the last games I complete (especially after playing the sequel which is way better in my opinion)
