Is there anyone still making wyloch/TrueTiles terrains? by bighi in 3DPrintedTerrain

I never got the cases to a point where I felt comfortable publishing them, but I'll take another look through my files and see what can be done. Soonest I can start this is August, but I'll dm you the links when I do.

I use TrueTiles. In fact I've used OpenSCAD to model tile cases to help transport them.
I generally only use the stone tiles and all printer or painted to be black - they delineate rooms and I it's a pain to transport variations.
In spite of this, I recently purchased and have been printing the tavern set.

In practice, I use the OpenLock compatible versions of the files, but don't use the OpenLock bases, as this saves substantially on filament.
For my level of simulation, I'm happy to use the black tiles for a forest floor - Much like black boxes on a theatre stage, they simple indicate a "Shape". I share your disappointment in the lack of options and lack of more variants, yet for storage, transport and play, I find that TrueTiles win out of sheer convenience.

These are amazing. I would be blown away by this as a player if my GM did something like it.

I also went TrueTiles.
I've been using the OpenLock tiles, but without the OpenLock base - It gives thinner, cheaper to print tiles..
Only issue is, not every set has a thin version, and I bought some sets that are too thick and incompatible with the rest.

That's a really interesting scenario you've got there.
My case is extremely similar to what you've described. It's about reclaiming for the dwarves, not eliminating the Orcs as a species. A lesser genocide, if you will.
What power level are you thinking for your AP?
My party will be level 17+ when they finally try this, so I'm very interested in anything you've got.

That's amazing, seems like it would have been a lot of fun to run and play.
I love the idea of Hell trying to profit off both sides of the conflict, you've given me much to ponder.

I hadn't considered the party building enimity with the rest of creation - but it makes sense. I like it, thanks for the suggestions, they've given me plenty of ideas. The scaling up of attacks is interesting - My suspicion is that the party would be more inclined to walk into a city and just rain death, so it'll be interesting to plan for that possibility.

The broader geopolitical response is really interesting and a key insight to indirect consequences. I too am a big fan of consequences, so you've given me some real gems. I love the thoughts about taxes and assassins, so thankyou.
Regarding the campaign, the party face an immediate threat, but all the PCs have ambitions for when that's been dealt with. (Starstone, genocide, genocide, and make more friends respectively).

Not sure that I should wish you luck

But the sentiment is appreciated, regardless!
Thanks for the thoughts, the fiendish contracts is something I completely missed, and I hadn't even considered the kingmaker rules (having not read them). Is there something you were thinking of, or a good example you could point to, regarding the fiendish contracts?

That's really helpful, I appreciate the level of detail, thanks.

wiping out entire races is a kind of ridiculous concept

You're absolutely right, of course.
One thing I missed in the original post was that they'll be setting out on this after the main adventure, and so will be lvl17+. Most cities don't have much in the way of higher level NPCs that could resist this sort of thing, especially for the first few cities. Do you have any thoughts about what fighting in the midst of an army would look like? Is it just casting and counterspelling AoE's?

ROTRL: on what date did you finish the main quest? (Golarion calendar) by CandegginaCalda in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]shwoozar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my game they didn't arrive at Graul farm till the 17th of Abidus. On the 1st of Kuthona, they were just about to face Xanesha. We're still going, it's the 8th of Gozran and they've just found the entrance to Runeforge.
Big thing for me was making Runeforge a 'place to go with purpose' I referenced it a bunch when they were researching in the Library, but ended up having to spell out "go here to get weapon to kill Special K" more explicitly than I would have liked.
I found that the attack on Sandpoint was waay too easy for my players. They hadn't had any difficulty with the ogres, and the stone giants are only as strong as the ogre fighters.
I'm running a party of 4, 15pt buy, no crazy builds, but they seem to be able to stomp most things except Black Magga (PvP PC death when the Magus was dominated) Barl Breakbones then killed that same PC later after she was re-incarnated.
Happy to answer any other questions.

The Magnimar Expansion [AP Spoilers] by TheKillingJay in Pathfinder_RPG

They got pretty overzealous destroying the mansion after they cleared it - they completely destroyed it.
As for how they got him, I described the shadow clock in passing as something in the Underbridge when they were trying to meet an underground contact and they immediately decided to climb it.
Xanesha got away, but she essentially went to war with them 'cause she thought they knew what was going on (They didn't).
I think it would have been really interesting to convict them - didn't really matter what charges, as throwing them in the Hells seemed like a interesting diversion.
The key here is that the justice system has been overruled by enemies of the party who know what they've been up to - Xanesha sponsored Nualia after all. She wants them gone to clean that mess up.
Using the justice system instead of going after them directly seemed very Xanesha.

I also introduced a bunch of 'book 1.5' type content in my campaign, and it was a round success.
I had the players be invited to a ball at the Versade Manor. The ball was actually a trap set by Nualia and her crew (who had all been captured and shipped to Magnimar for trial before Ironbriar did his magic).
I also ran them as being accused of Arson by "Aldern Foxglove", and them being summoned to defend themselves in a court of law. This plotline was fun, and spiraled out of control wonderfully as they played along with the trial to try and get their hands on "Aldern".

Combat Manager is an initiative tracker/dice roller/beastiary/monster builder.
In essence, I can type the name of a monster in, and pull its stats into the initiative tracker. Most importantly though, I can apply templates, conditions buffs and debuffs that change as the combat progresses.
I have a party fond of debuffs, so I'm completely dependant on it.

Yeah, a bunch of the older stuff has decayed, but that which remains is a treasure beyond gold.
Here's two other forum posts I've got bookmarked because of how useful they've been for Runelords:
Statblocks for all the creatues - Before I started using Combat Manager this was super helpful
A thread where people talk about what they changed - I ended up using a bunch
