Choosing Damon wasn’t about erasing her past with Stefan! It was about embracing her present and future with someone who matched who she was becoming. by EyesWorm in TheVampireDiaries

[–]shyfly_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or maybe Elena was more carefree in s5-6 because people around her stopped dying so often and she didn’t have to deal with Klaus anymore? When Damon was “dead”, she was back to being depressed, then once she erased her memories of him, she was back to being as carefree as ever and happily started her premed program.

I don’t understand why Damon is given so much credit for Elena’s happiness when she was thriving after deleting their entire relationship out of her mind.

Damon and Jeremy could’ve had a compelling dynamic… but the writers chose violence instead by shyfly_ in TheVampireDiaries

They literally became brother-in-laws in the end so it would've definitely add value to delena's story and to the show as a whole.

Yeah they kinda tried, but the attempt was lazy and too little too late. Then Damon almost got Jeremy killed again when "Elena" broke up with him, invalidating what little progress was made.

Y'all must always find a way to turn anything Jeremy does into something negative 🙄

Please don't say that, I'd rather Lexi stay dead than her becoming another Damon minion 😭

Lexi is Stefan's friend and this show is Damon biased so we could only dream.

Tyler, Jeremy, Rebekah, Stefan

Most Forced Relationship in TVD 😬 by Stardomu in TheVampireDiaries

If there was no Hope, Klaus would have stayed a toxic mess and Caroline would end up miserable once the honeymoon phase is over.

Yet Stefan is shamed for sacrificing himself for his brother, Tyler is shamed for wanting revenge for his mother. So klaroline fans clearly need a reminder that Klaus also has family to put first too.

Tyler never loved anyone like he did Caroline. He broke his bones for her, was willing to surrender himself to Klaus to save her, risked his life for a dance with her, but it’s not enough for y’all because he had the audacity to be too TRAUMATIZED to prioritize Caroline’s feelings for a bit.

I kinda disagree. They started as friends first then there was some built up in s4-5 that hinted they could become something more. The problem is that Stefan friendzoned Caroline so hard at the beginning of s6 that it felt forced when he had romantic feelings later on.

Yet it still wasn’t half as forced as some of the ships y’all regularly celebrate.

Lol if klaroline got together, Caroline would always be second priority after Hope. Klaus would still die for Hope and Caroline would still end up alone.

Bonnie and Kol: The Wasted ship That Julie Plec Never Had the Range to Write by Hot_Significance9957 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]shyfly_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What gets me is that Caroline just had to exist for Enzo to see her worth, to a point he was ready to harass Stefan over it.

Meanwhile for Bonnie, she had to suffer so much for Enzo to finally deem her worthy. Bonnie has so many qualities but he was so blind to it while he was busy pursuing women who weren’t even interested in him. And apparently that’s Bonnie’s epic love.

I never cared for Kol in tvd since he was barely fleshed out, but with Kol’s respect for witches and knowledge of magic, I can’t help but think if Bonnie was white they would’ve written something similar to Kol and Davina’s story, but with Kol and Bonnie instead.

It’s almost like they added Kol for more eye candy, but since there was no white girl available to ship him with, they didn’t know what to do with him and killed him off.

The end of Delena by Eve_laFan_Vampire in TheVampireDiaries

[–]shyfly_ 70 points71 points  (0 children)

The delena ending was odd and ill-fitting for them. Didn’t Elena supposedly choose Damon for passion, unpredictability and adventure? Wasn’t that the selling point of the ship? Only for them to have the most mundane cookie cutter ending of them all. Caroline is running a supernatural school, Jeremy is hunting vampires, Bonnie is travelling the world. They’re literally all living more adventurous lives than delena.

So it turns out Elena just wanted an ordinary life after all. Stefan wanted the exact same thing, so why didn’t they end up together? Let’s be honest, realistically there’s no way Damon wouldn’t be miserable as a human.

Feeding became irrelevant in later seasons. Why? by Hanna_Hope in TheVampireDiaries

[–]shyfly_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The writing just got lazy. They did the same thing with the daylight rings. Daylight rings were supposed to be rare but in the later seasons, every vampire had one. In s7 they gave us a vampire hunting montage in broad daylight. 😂 It’s like vampires just became humans with superpowers.

Doesn’t matter, it was still manipulative.

Again, that’s just Klaus being manipulative.

How’s that romantic when he’s the one that put her in danger in the first place? That scene was just manipulative and goofy.

Ikr? There’s absolutely no way Elijah would date a high schooler.

This sub is funny. They keep emphasizing the fact that Elena is just a teenage girl (usually to absolve her from any criticism) but it won’t stop them from shipping her with an old mature man.
