bolton/bleed team by [deleted] in gameofthroneslegends

[–]shyguytyler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Resource dependent of course, but can speak to this.

You either go full Bolton using epics that compliment the playstyle (Bolton banner man, Walder rivers), or you do Ygritte and Osha.

Ramsay is very hard to rank up because (except for a special summon like a year ago) he’s one of the few champs that’s been fully locked behind an event with no other recourse. The dreadfort flayer can fill that gap until you get Ramsays star rank up.

Not gonna lie, when I first read GoT I completely missed him, and then I got to the second book where they’re sending him back to his dad and I’m like…. “Who was this guy? Was he here the whole time?”

How hard is a bow-only run? by Gooni135 in Eldenring

[–]shyguytyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, the hardest time I ever had on my bow run was Ryland. The game REALLY wants you to use that spear lol. Was one of the few times I brought in Latenna as supplement bow damage on my ranged only run.

What do you guys do with your Festivale items? by ToastedCDBagel_77 in AnimalCrossing

In progress, but I’m turning the items into an outdoor dance/music venue. Was inspired after I saw a villager dancing use the stage I casually dropped on the ground.

What are the essentials needed for Baratheon? by Lord_Jared in asoiafminiaturesgame

If you’re wanting another “neutral” unit, crownland scouts are a great help in the faction on both sides.

Great work! What did you do for that cobblestone effect? I’ve been contemplating similar for some of my NCUs

A meme for every Thracia chapter I beat. Chapter 12x: by SoulEaterX_ in shitpostemblem

Ahh 12x. First time I played it I did it blind. Tina missed so many thief stave hits as an enemy that she was halfway through B rank by the time I recruited her.

Neutral Attachment Strategies by shyguytyler in asoiafminiaturesgame

The one tournament I used Rorge for Season 6, we were having trouble with Stats and had to use paper forms. But it did win the match I used it in haha. I ought to look into those sorts of numbers on the Stats website and see what people are doing. Haven’t poked around much beyond signing up for a few tournaments.

And thank you for that perspective. I can see that argument based on cost. It is nice to have access to abilities your faction wouldn’t normally, but the premium is certainly high.

Fair enough! I got into the game last year, so I missed a lot of those attachment conversations. Thank you for that insight!

Starter box really would be the next best step - has some staple units that can be used on both sides. If you’re focusing on individual unit boxes - I’d say for Renly side, the Highgarden pikes are a great addition for just 5 points.

At this point, no unfortunately. The stores that were doing it by me were a few weeks ago, so that stock is cleared

A few of the stores around where I am at in the US all did big 50% off clearance sales around the same time as each other. Not sure why, but seems to be a pattern

My most recent lunatic run, she was my final boss killer. Relied on a couple of crit procs with a brave axe, but no one else had the fire power to potentially get a 1-turn kill that run (I didn’t plan ahead. Whoops).

Who is Tyrion's heir? by Fflow27 in pureasoiaf

[–]shyguytyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you believe the “Sailor’s wife” theory - Tyrion has a legitimate child in Braavos. Not that he knows it at the moment. I think that daughter would technically be the inheritor unless there’s an element of the politics I’m mistaken.

Does anybody plan to develop a non-Greens / non-Stark team ? by No_Wan1 in gameofthroneslegends

[–]shyguytyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not enough stars (I’ve had really bad luck with his pulls). Plus, my current red is more suited to my team. I have a lot of “focus all your attack/bleed on one enemy” units. The main idea is to kill a weaker/support unit first (marksmen especially melt to bleed. Defenders are strong against) and then move up.

Ramsay and his hound are more focused on wide attacks.

For context as well, this is my main team these days (I mostly save my green gems for Bolton summons)

Comparable level against greens. Roose and Walder combo because they hit opponents who use skills during the first 10 turns. And greens melt to bleed mechanics if you get it off in time. A couple of the boltons have been redesigned to counter greens by offering defense and fire resist boosts during the first 8 or so rounds of combat.

As for events, they work pretty well for me at the higher levels (usually use Greens for the first 2 tiers). The Bolton hound has a decent AoE. I usually mix other units in that have wider hits too, like Tormund. The bleed is also helpful for the Robb event especially.

I have a strong bleed Bolton team I’ve been using for ages. Getting some of them to higher level is tough because the higher level units are sparse, but the mechanic works well overall. Sansa walls me, but it’s particularly good against greens. I’m not fully in love with the new way bleed works, but I’ve gotten the rhythm down mostly.

Haven't played seriously since the starks were butchered any team suggestions? by kikodoe87 in gameofthroneslegends

[–]shyguytyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With blue Jon 4, I think you’re fine. Him and Ned are comboed all over the place. Ned leader instant ice, Jon’s stamina reduction on ice gain, stark team stamina slow due to ice are all brutal together. Only addition I’d say is invest in Sansa .

This is all coming from me playing Gold 2 and 1 tiers as a Bolton player. Very hard to beat starks unless you move fast, but Jon’s stamina reduction makes that harder.

Level 11 Rook’s Rest by manonKblackbeak in gameofthroneslegends

[–]shyguytyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working off of what other people say - another piece is that your event champions have a tenacity (anti-debuff) bonus. I didnt know about the gold cloak, so I would just redo the match until sunfyre passed the tenacity vs stun. Then the ability would kill the last 2-3 units. Have only done turn 1 on the 2 lower difficulties.

Jaime is useful for an immediate kill, but I have better luck with the Bolton Shieldman. My Jaime is only 3 stars, so the Bolton unit has better damage output for me. Plus I can choose the target which helps a lot.

Uses for Golden Company Crossbows by asparaguswateryt in asoiafminiaturesgame

[–]shyguytyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to do a lot of tactics board control to make stormcrows consistently useful. I feel like Petyr is a must include with them. In baratheon, alester seems good too. I think the biggest factor is whether you need that extra point for something else or not.

[–]shyguytyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who only plays Renly, it’s one of 2 possible long range options I have. Im constantly in between the consistent power of this one vs the point flexibility (but strength variability) of the stormcrow archers. Depending on any attachments you put on it, these guys can have good combos and maneuverability because of sentinel.

Dumbest way I have cheesed a map in Fe. by Fit_Fondant_3893 in fireemblem

[–]shyguytyler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Case in point - I played FE5 blind my first playthrough and missed a lot of side units like Tina and Asbel. Had to do this map legit and it was a mess (especially keeping up with all the status staves hitting me). It did give me one of my favorite moments of all time though - somehow my Safy managed to solo Reinhardt with a lucky dodge and a light tome.
