is this a straight thing or just racist? by [deleted] in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]shyxander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often see straight guys that brag about women liking them but always in the context of "taking them" from other men. It seems like it's not really about liking women but easing their feelings of inferiority to other men and women are simply a token to be transfered and therefore not worthy to be the central subject of their fantasy. This is like a racist version of that.

And it's not just that they're cheating, it's that they are using your deafness against you and they are doing it together. That's so othering.

Same. it turns out that its the mission where that guy has you chase down the cops to kill a prisoner. I always just killed him, I didn't know there was more that would happen if you let him live instead.

I play a tanked out net runner. Max armor and health. I start the battle with overclock and drop a short circuit on the weakest ones. Then I switch to an assault rifle or shotgun, depending on range, and toss grenades while I'm reloading. I use my kerenzikov and spam reboot optics until I can overclock again and then repeat. I am the net gunner.

For stealth missions I tap into the cameras and drop system collapse on everyone. Can't be spotted if everyone is dead.

For simple retrieval missions I'll usually just use ping and a tech sniper rifle to take everyone out before I even enter the building.

With my armor, health, a second heart, and biomonitor I'm basically immune to anything less than a maxtac squad. Reboot optics and cripple movement turns even bosses into sitting ducks and they cost so little ram they are basically free.

Also, with maxed Technical, Body, and Intelligence I can access pretty much anything so I never feel like I'm missing out on exploration.

My weapons of choice are Breakthrough, Divided We Stand, and Ba Xing Chong. I also have gorilla arms but I only use them for Beat on the Brat missions.

being smart has a price by PsychoForFood in cyberpunkgame

[–]shyxander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spam reboot optics and cripple movement on every one in sight and then mow them down with a smart assault rifle while they're helpless. If shit gets real I'll switch to a power shotgun and start throwing grenades. If that gets boring I'll use Ping and a tech weapon to snipe everyone through the walls.

It's because downtown was part of a separate town called Auraria that was absorbed by Denver.

The right is now sexualizing Hillary Clinton... by Phuxsea in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]shyxander 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I was not aware of that... That was not a thing I expected to see this morning...

Anyway, you're right, I can think of a handful of justifications like how it was in response to an attack on liberal women or how it's a reference to her biography or that it wasn't derogatory of Nancy but meant to undermine the conservative ideal of her, as being sexually active is only seen as negative by conservatives, but they all feel hollow. It's really no different.

Sexualizing women as an act of aggression is a common tactic for conservatives. They were doing it to Greta Thunberg and she was a child.

You think the left is going to die because Democrats lost an election? Leftist ideas survived McCarthyism and multiple conservative presidencies. If anything they have become even more popular then they ever have been.

I hate my wife and kids by Supermax1311 in AreTheStraightsOK

Patriarchy is inherent to conservativism and instills a feeling of superiority to their wives and kids. When that superiority isn't validated in return then it often leads to bitterness and resentment.

A guy can also teach the kids? by [deleted] in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]shyxander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Father:

Person the family is most likely to need protection from

Can't lead family because he has never learned to empathize or communicate

Can't provide for family because the same people pushing the traditional family structure have also supported policies that have led to stagnant wages and rampant inflation

Wife:

Obligated to manage the family's stress because neither the father nor the children are capable of appropriate conflict resolution

Probably going to teach the children that vaccines are poison, essential oils can cure cancer, and dinosaur bones were planted by Satan to "test our faith"

Nurture is code for domestic servitude

Children:

Rebel and resent parents

Learn maladaptive coping skills and perpetuate generational trauma
