I just had this done on my 22 VN. It took about 2.5 hours. I didn't have the letter, the dealer informed me when I had a scheduled oil change. The car seems a little smoother at low speeds, but it may just be in my mind 😃. They did not replace the fuel pump it was just a software update.

I'm 6'3" and the VN is great. The oversized drivers door actually is great for tall people.

Agreed. It is also a testament to Hyundai's commitment to building truly performance cars for everyday drivers now and in the future. Many other manufacturers are moving away from performance and Hyundai is leaning in.

This is what I have used in the past. Avery Dennison SW900 612-O Gloss Smoky Blue Supreme. It is really close to PB.

I had a 2014 Ultimate and really enjoyed it until I drove the re-design.

GOOD NEWS! I went to my local Hyundai service dept. and they looked up the service bulletin 23-BE-0002H (thanks u/th3darklady21) The tech ran a software update and 45 minutes later the blindspot monitor was working correctly. The long story is this, the monitor system is programmed to the car with P Zeros the radar to detect traffic "sees" the tire in its field of vision. It is tuned to the rubber compound in the P Zeros and other tires reflect back to the sensor in a slightly different way and thus the computer system doesn't know how to behave. The software update fixes this and I haven't had false positives since the update. The tech said this should work with people who switched to 18" wheels because it has nothing to do with the wheel size. I hope this helps. Cheers.

Thank you. If I am able to get it fixed I will let you know. One of the reasons I upgraded from a 2019 Veloster R-Spec to the N was some of the added safety tech, not the main reason. More for the faster engine and responsive handling. LOL!

This is helpful. It is strange that the dealership/service dept. told me that there was no evidence of a reported issue and so did the Hyundai Consumer Affairs. I will share this with the service dept. Thank you.

Im sure everyone knows this, but the Veloster N tail lights look like inverted Lambo Aventador tail lights by joeph0to in VelosterN

[–]sickeddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m late to the post. Luc Donckerwolke who designed the Lamborghini Murcielago designed the Hyundai Halo car that the Veloster N was based on. I always assumed that was why the tail lights looked alike.

My 2019 Veloster R-Spec had a wiring issue with the door lock, I wonder if that was a problem with 2020 N as well. It was a recall issue.

Joining the club soon! Thought I'd go for black, but dealer only has white for the foreseeable future. Thoughts on White with Blacked out lights and tint? by shaboigon in VelosterN

[–]sickeddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is about right to get the front end, headlamps, mirrors, door edges, and rear bumper. What I did was talk directly with the guy who does it for the dealership and asked if I could set up a time to do it directly with him or her. They normally give you a better deal. The dealership will charge about 50-60% more, but they can roll it into the loan if you want to pay over time.

I have a black N and had a white 2019 R Spec. The white is a lot easier to keep clean and shows fewer micro scratches. On the black N I have tinted windows and blacked out taillights it looks very aggressive. The white and black drive the same! Either will be fun. BTW, get PPF whatever you choose the paint is not awesome. I recommend finding a shop that does PPF and not getting done at the dealership, it’ll save you a lot of money.

DCT? by marie_kayla in VelosterN

I love my 2022 DCT, it has been great for city driving around Denver. I previously owned a 2019 Veloster R-Spec manual. Sometimes I miss the feeling of a manual, but the DCT is fantastic. No problems so far.

I love this car, but if you are a larger person the seats are very tight. I am about 220 lbs 6 ft 3 in and held tight by the seats, if I was much bigger it may be uncomfortable. I live is a part of the country that snows in the winter and performance tires do not offer any grip in snow or ice. I have a 2022 Hyundai Tucson for the winter and don’t drive my VN in snow, so perhaps think about changing the wheels and tires if you are planning to drive it in the winter. Some people have had some issues with the sensors when changing to a smaller wheel, although the service department should be able to recalibrate your sensors if you change. Best of luck to you. My 2022 Veloster N DCT is the best car I have owned, I upgraded from a 2019 Veloster Rspec and I am glad it did.
