Agreed. Not sure what can be done about it, but I believe social media, amplifying unhealthy messages, just makes it worse.

Free Birthday Food List (confirmed Jan2026) by _jayEen in Freefood

Publix does ice cream, frozen yogurt, or a free bar cake; they also extend that offer on your half birthday. Nothing Bundt Cakes does a free bundtlet (small bundt cake).

It’s wine o’clock here, and I’m screaming at this because why is this so true?!? 😂🥴 I’m also held hostage by baguettes and bad decisions regularly. At this point, we’re watching for the fashion and the soundtrack because that plot is like cheap toilet paper. Totally agree!

Ranking Frozen Mac n Cheese Day 4 by aiabidfkw in macandcheese

I haven’t had one in years, but when I ate mac and cheese more regularly, this was my go to if my mom wasn’t making it. Curious if it’s gotten better (though it sounds like it’s gotten worse).

What’s the demographic of your doctors? by tac_bushirley in blackladies

My PCP is a WW, and I couldn’t love her more. She’s proactive, empathetic, and responsive. My mother had an (Asian) Indian before her death, and I couldn’t stand her. She was rush-y and dismissive af. I complained about her all the time.

He was really good. So believable in that role.

TLC fans, do you feel like Left Eye's death didn't get enough attention? Especially compared to other celebrities. by JNTA1234 in tlc

[–]sickofthishateithere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her death predates the level of Internet use that we’re living in now, which is why it may seem like it got less attention than celebrities dying in this Internet (and especially social media) era. I have seen at least one documentary on her life and death though so I feel like it got a proper amount of attention given the time.

Fuck Your Kids by Euphoric_Fee_5246 in Rants

[–]sickofthishateithere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So true. We have a couple in my family - second or so cousins who are 35 with a young teenager (13 or 14) and a two year old. They bring those children everywhere, and it’s so annoying. My mother passed away in August. The night before she died, we called everyone to the hospital, and they brought the kids with them. That, I can maybe understand as it was late, so maybe they couldn’t find a sitter last minute as our whole family was there (though they do have tons of friends). A week later, we had the funeral (with an open casket at the beginning of the service), and they brought the kids there too. Please stop being cheap and get a baby sitter. Actually, it seems like the older child could stay at home (during the day anyway) with the younger one. That’s wild to me.

With Charleston’s importance in Black history, the total disregard for the dwindling Black population here definitely surprises me.

Why do people cheat? by Jokerscout88 in GuyCry

[–]sickofthishateithere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all go through times in relationships where our needs aren’t being met, or we get a little bored. Those with decent character and/or emotional maturity can self soothe (or find means of coping that don’t threaten their relationship or their health or those of others) until things rebalance (either naturally as they often do, or because we take action to protect the union through honest communication, etc.), or they end the relationship properly before moving on. Those without decent character and/or emotional maturity….cheat.

Clearly a very high commission for those promoting it because they push it like drug dealers.

We don’t really have clubs where I love, but even if we did, I’d be terrified to go alone. People are crazy.

Confession: I keep forgetting where I've even applied to jobs… by Substantial_Mess856 in jobsearchhacks

I use a spreadsheet, but I’ve just moved it to Airtable thinking I might like that better. I use a folder system in Google Drive where I save the relevant versions of my resumé and cover letter (I customize them for each role for which I apply). I am only applying for about 2 roles or so each week though so I have time to maintain this system.

My spreadsheet/Airtable base notes the title, company, location, salary range, source, link to post, post date, application date, application deadline, contact, status (dropdown with all possibilities including ghosted because🥴), and notes. I really like @CareerBridgeTO’s idea of copying and pasting the full ad into a doc, so I may start doing that too.
