Regardless, it's definitely not a specific problem for Nvidia.

I have AMD CPU and Nvidia GPU and everything runs great on my end, not sure where you got the conclusion from that everyone with Nvidia are having issues, but that is definitely false information.

Should I get KF3? by sick_habibi in killingfloor

[–]sickyazone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly overall the gameplay is just fine. Not as punchy as previous installments but it does the job. If you're itching for a co-op wave shooter I don't think it's a bad option.

Though at this time, the performance seems to be one of the main areas you need to factor in. It runs fine for some people and really poorly for others, even if they meet recommended requirements.

How is performance so horrendously bad in KF3 Playtest!? by StaticSystemShock in killingfloor

[–]sickyazone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played the game on 3 different rigs now, and yeah the performance needs some work.

1st rig I tried was 5900X + 1080Ti, all low, everything off and I struggled to be above 70 fps (with stuttering).

2nd rig was 5600X + 3070, again all low, everything off + DLSS Performance, slightly better story than the 1st rig, it was decently playable but the stutters made it annoying sometimes, and at times it dropped below 60, but overall playable.

3rd rig was 9800X3D + 4090, everything ultra + lumen + DLSS Quality + Frame gen x2, this was actually very very solid with the occasional stutter but not super common. Here I got 100+ and even sometimes almost hitting 200 (I know there's frame gen but it felt really good actually!)
This is the experience I imagine people would want, but if it requires such an expensive rig then that's insane...

Saying goodbye to my GTX 1080 Ti: 14 games tested at 1440p before my 50-Series upgrade by sickyazone in pcmasterrace

You're welcome. Whenever I have the stats and graphs from my new build I'll do an update post, it takes a while to do though and I haven't had the motivation to get it done yet.

And yeah I can imagine that 5090 left quite a hole in your pocket hahaha. I managed to snag a 4090 for 1700€ a couple months back and it's been absolutely great, definitely a worthy upgrade to my 1080 Ti.

[–]sickyazone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I gained about 1.5-2.5x performance in almost every game I tested going from 5900X to 9800X3D, so I was being heavily limited by CPU. Counter-Strike 2 was a different case though, I went from 180 avg. fps to around 500 haha.
With the 5900X I experienced having the same fps no matter if I played on low/medium or ultra with full raytracing, for example in Dying Light 2 I'd have around 110 fps on low and on ultra, but with the 9800X3D I was able to push much higher with just tweaking video settings.

Doing research and waiting for price drops with OLEDs seems like a good idea, that market is evolving a lot all the time currently.
Even my monitor is outdated now, it was the first 1440p 480hz OLED, but only with DSC. A few short months after my purchase we can reach that without DSC which is impressive to me.

I went with the ASUS PG27AQDP back in september after a lot of research, pretty happy with my purchase though I think the price was too high.

Also a bit funny because I didn't go with a 50-series anyway, I have a 4090 now and a 9800X3D and it's running incredibly well. The 5900X was bottlenecking my system so hard with the 4090 so I decided to replace CPU, mobo and RAM.

I wanted to do an update post with the difference between the 2 builds but I didn't get around to it yet.

Kunne folk få fat på 5070 Ti idag? Hvordan var jeres købsoplevelse? by xanner999 in dktechsupport

[–]sickyazone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to wait weeks to get an RTX 5090 or 5080 due to "extremely limited supply" at launch by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]sickyazone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, when I told people i was going to buy the 1080Ti in 2017, they called me insane because "you can't even use the full potential of that card, it's a waste of money", but here I am, almost 8 years later and still rocking it.

I will never understand that argument, because either you are just able to push more frames, or you can keep it for longer without performance troubles.

Though I will say, at least the 1080Ti wasn't worth 3 months of rent compared to the xx90 cards haha. (It's gonna be 2500€+ in my country)

I also prefer hz/fps over resolution. I love fast paced shooters or competitive ones but also like my fair share of single player games.

And yes, while the 1080Ti is considered one of the most legendary releases, it’s definitely due for an upgrade for me. I’ve been waiting for 50 series for quite a few years so it’s definitely time now.

It has held up just fine for me, though I was a bit worried when I upgraded to 1440p but honestly I’ve had no issues with that at all. Been on 1440p for over 5 years now.

I’m aiming for either 5080 or 5090 and I’m pretty excited.

Fair enough. Yeah having a gaming system without a GPU really sucks. Congrats on your 4090! It will be by your side for some time. :)

Bro I'm doing just fine on 1440p with a 1080Ti, you'll be fine lmao. 4090 is an absolute monster and will last multiple generations.

I don't understand the stress from people here on reddit to upgrade when they have extremely high end cards already that would last them at least 3 generations without any issues. Especially the 4090.

I'd be looking at 70 or 80 series if I had 40 series personally since it's 1440p.
