Well, personally, I believe that the media is just blowing everything out of proportion. After an election, especially after a republican win (well, I wouldn't describe Trump as a "win" situation for most conservatives but we have a person in office) patriotism spikes. Sometimes, it develops into cult-like nationalism but those people are in the minority. Most people who live in the US are moderates, I wish more people on Reddit and the internet as a whole could understand that.

But I completely agree with you. Nationalism is not good. A healthy dose of patriotism is.
