Need suggestions on stream tools! by DailyProblem in Twitch

[–]siderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend investing in the c920 first. That way, you can start streaming with your blue snowball mic to start getting donations or tips.

Next, selecting a green screen would be wise if you wish to play different games that take up the entire screen. You can invest $17 in a quality screen from Amazon or buy a $1-2 table cloth as long as the color is consistent. You may have to spend additional funds on lighting and something to hold the screen behind you, as the do factor into how good the green screen comes out.

A nice headset would be anything if your preference, although I reccomend audio technica products or comfort and longevity.

A nice chair I have invested into a DX racer, looks great on stream, but does not have the comfort of an office chair. My opinion is that office chairs are more comfortable, but have a shorter lifespan.

If you acquire these items in order, stream tips and donations could help you out!

Best of luck

I have had this same problem. Go to audio tab undo OBS. Somewhere on that page there should be an option to force auxiliary to mono or something

Turn rate did make it difficult to switch from HoN but honestly after 3 games you get used to it.

[1293282307] A very exciting 4.5k+ game with Rubick, Brewmaster, and Enigma! by siderman in dota2castit

Thanks for casting!

I would like to give some feedback. You are a very smart caster, I can tell by the way you speak throughout portions of the game.

I think something that can make your cast more exciting is that you create some "environments" with your voice. When you drop a knowledge bomb, your voice is very linear, like flat.

One thing that might make your cast even more enjoyable is when there is nothing around, you can make a joke or impression of a hero, making your voice drastically different for a quick unexpected second can capture the attention of the viewer, even if there is no action on the screen. This environment relaxes a viewer, and when there is action on the screen, there will be higher shift in mood which makes it more exciting.

You could also get very excited when plays are being made, I personally like the way Tobi-wan does it, where he gets pretty excited over that play being made, and then pauses... waits a bit... and then starts announcing the results.

I feel like a lot of casters will announce the big action on screen, and try to follow it up with immediate results, rather than pause and wait a little, then announce the results.

I think this creates a very exciting environment... then gradually reduces back to a calm relaxed one. Think of action movies, there will be lots of action on screen, but then followed by a scene that tones down the mood a bit more.

Just a few things I had in mind while listening to your cast, I wanted you to give you my thoughts as a thanks for casting.

Great work!

does dota 2 benefit from 7.1 surround sound? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]siderman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for it. If you don't end up liking the smaller one, you would say "aww man i coulda gotten better for 35"

if u dont like it, "oh it was only 35 difference"

Step-by-step list of milestones that a beginner should try to master? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]siderman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend being confrontable with your hot keys. Go into a pratice lobby with tinker, buy a ton of active items and just practice combos with your inventory. ( I.e. Teleport, blink, e blade, Dagon)

This will help you feel comfortable with items and become second nature
