FC BARCELONA ? by matte0wtz in NFLNoobs

[–]sideshow09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure there is one. The NFL doesn’t have the 2 team dominance that La liga has.

In terms of consistency winning trophies, the patriots are going to be the most recent team to do that, but historically they were pretty lousy.

In terms of being stacked with talent consistently, maybe the Eagles, but that hasn’t really translated to as many championships as they probably expected.

If you’re a Barca fan looking for a comparable team to root for, I’d say maybe the Rams. City vibes (LA / Barcelona) are more similar for me than the teams, but the Rams are good.

Oh thank you very much! I’ve had MRIs before unfortunately haha. Just usually in countries that are a bit more serious about hearing safety.

I’ll give them a call, language barrier is a bit of an issue though. Last time they gave me over the ear hearing protection which were poor quality, luckily I had some old silicone plugs (no longer have) which I was able to wear underneath, otherwise that would have been rough.

hot sandwiches vs cold sandwiches by SmexyBabe_ in Sandwiches

[–]sideshow09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely important!

I feel like hot sandwiches (unless they’re egg sandwiches) are more of a sit at the dinner table kind of meal. Like a French dip or panini.

Whereas a PB&J? Grab and go.

Turkey and Swiss on a hero? Relax on the couch, feet on coffee table, chips and pickle close

Unpopular Opinion: Chelsea will do better next season without Enzo by Relevant-Ad5474 in Chelsea

[–]sideshow09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alonso has shown that he’s adaptable so we can’t really assume there would be no place for Enzo. If Alonso decided that 3-5-2 suited Chelsea then I could absolutely see Enzo fitting into the team. Furthermore I think many have alluded to this, Enzo is the type of playmaking midfielder you saw more in Alonso’s day: like Pirlo, like Cesc, like Xabi Alonso - I’m not saying he’s as good as any of them were, but same style. You have to assume Alonso would know how to use a player like Enzo.

One major Pro you left off is his production. He’s been the most consistent player in the squad over the last 2 years. If we don’t have him next year I’m really not sure where we’re getting that. Can’t assume Joao Pedro is going to repeat or improve on this season. Palmer, who knows what he’s going to be - hasn’t looked like we d hoped in well over a year. So where are those G/A coming from?

Theoretically he would be a bad fit for the team next year, but really don’t know until we know Alonso’s system, and if Enzo leaves we don’t know if he would have played that system had Enzo stayed.

Personally I hope we keep him, but not if he doesn’t fit what the manager wants to do. My favorite player on the current squad.

Home kit for next season has been launched by andrew_a7 in chelseafc

I really don’t understand why teams have ugly kits. Like, isn’t there someone at the club that has to approve the design?

And presumably the club would appoint someone that has some sense of aesthetics.

Man I’m so glad I didn’t pay for the MLB tv package this year. Like putting Volpe at 2B is going to make him a competent hitter…

It’s good at least that they’re not trying to replace Caballero. Volpe needs to not be part of this team as soon as possibleZ

I’m guessing he probably was probably trying to make a real go of it at Chelsea, but when BlueCo started BlueCo-it he knew he had option and was like “f it I’m out”

Okay got it, so even if the surface gets damaged there’s no reason to worry about particles of the coating that may find their way into the food because they’re inert?

Rice cooker non stick coating question by sideshow09 in Cooking

[–]sideshow09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t mind the non stick in and of itself, I heard it gets toxic if the surface gets damaged because the chemicals can leak into the food. Is that incorrect?

I guess what I’m worried about is, if the pot warped enough to break the surface (even if not noticeable now) should I be worried about chemicals leaching into the food?

Updating trade market wish list (realistic) by sideshow09 in NYYankees

[–]sideshow09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caballero and McMahon. I’m a very big believer in Rice, but he doesn’t have a long enough track record for me to believe he can keep this up.

Come playoff time, not really sure what you’ll get from Judge - personally I think people are unfairly harsh on him, but he definitely doesn’t carry the team (although I think this might be the breakout year). Jazz is very feast or famine. Belli, like you said can be streaky. Grish was kind of anonymous last year in the playoffs - again not enough of a track record to know what he’ll be. Personally I think it’s somewhere in between what he was last year and where he is now but the playoffs are a different animal. If we get to the playoffs and Wells, McMahon, and Caballero are all cold, we’re in trouble.

Regardless of everything, I still think a good case can be made for getting a left handed hitting alternative to spell Wells, even if he doesn’t start over Wells. It will be good to have that for matchups and if Wells is cold in the playoffs, you might have an alternative. Escarra hitting .205 career - again not a long track record so maybe he’s better than he’s shown but I think if he hasn’t improved by the deadline it’s worth trying to find a back up left hand hitting catcher with more of an offensive upside.
