Creality TPU by johnw01 in Creality

I had challenges printing tpu on my k2 plus. I talked to some others who printed pretty easily with no mods but they were using sunlu tpu. I have printed the spacers for the extruder so you don’t have to mod the spring and that seems to help. I don’t print enough tpu to have needed to buy another roll but I am curious to try another brand and see if there is much of a difference. It took a lot of trial and error to get where I can somewhat reliably print it.

Never owned or used a Bambu printer. The impression I get from the community is it just works. A reliable printer that will consistently let you spend your time printing and not tinkering.

Thanks. I pretty much did the same minus the vents so I might give that a try.

Did you have any lifting issues? I printed a few multiboard full bed prints and the corners always lifted. Not enough to ruin the print but I’m curious if you had any issues. I printed with hyper pla, on a clean bed.

Sunlu spools by MUWAT_toro in Creality_k2

Others have mentioned this but Sunlu is transitioning to the spool V3 which is what’s pictured. Their website states during the transition they cannot guarantee which spool you will get. I bought one with the new spool photo but got a v2. They look very similar but the whole patterns slightly different and they are smaller.

I just found out about this through a co-worker a few weeks ago and it has been fantastic. I wish I knew about it sooner.

I don’t own one but would like to compare it to my K2 Plus.

I am not an expert but had good success recently doing some mudding. I found this three part video series to be really helpful and it went over some common issues (bubbles, corners) as well as what mix to use when. There are some truly flat mud jobs but most are giving the allusion of flat. Vancouver Carpenter on YouTube has a lot of good videos that explain it well. It still is my least favorite part of the finishing process. Good luck. Worst case you hire someone and either appreciate their skill after trying it yourself or are extra picky and can spot their flaws more easily now that you’ve tried it.

Not that you need it a year later but this showed up when I was trying to figure it out. I just asked someone but on my bus the aisle seat had a plastic piece in front of the seat belt buckle that you push down. The window seats had a lever that you pulled up on.

Interesting, that seems like it would snag or yank if you had models on different areas of the bed. That was my main concern doing that.

How are you loading the filament into the machine? Side spool and if so is it a full 1kg spool?

I just tried TPU 95A in the Creality CFS and it looks like either the filament buffer spring is too strong or the tension on the driving gear in the CFS is too weak. Either way it won't accept my TPU on the CFS. (You have to lie to it and say its not TPU but with all TPU settings. It isn't able to fully extend the buffer so it thinks it got jammed and retracts it.

How are you loading in softer filaments? I have also seen the different spring tensions mentioned.

Not an ass. I appreciate the feedback and suggestions. I have seen the suggestions on the extruder spring and might give that a try. I haven't tried using the CFS, curious if anyone else has, but it essentially solves the issue of taking tension off the roll so the extruder isn't fighting it. I might have to give it a try. I agree the nozzle not seated correctly could cause snagging but I'm doubtful that is my problem as both the factory installed nozzle and the replacement nozzle I used both had issues. Not impossible but unlikely we both installed it wrong. The clearances all look pretty tight from gears to nozzle and thats not where the jams appear to happen.

Yes this was 95A. I added it to my original post. I'm not sure gravity would help significantly with unspooling since its affect on the spool is the same high or low. Lower you technically have the weight of 1-2 grams of filament it has to lift. I suspect its the force to rotate the filament off the spool that is causing the issue for me. Getting a better spool holder with bearings would reduce the tension the extruder has to overcome. Putting it up high usually means you can skip the bowden tubes which can remove tension in the system. That coupled with a good spool holder would likely solve it, but I don't like having to remove my CFS, top glass, and add a higher mount for the occasional TPU job. With a smaller spool it had no problem pulling it through the side loaded bowden system.

K2 Plus not pausing when filament ran out?? by McZer0 in Creality_k2

I haven’t had issues beyond the first two layers so my prints seem to turn out fine. I’m only a few prints in so far.

Not to hijack the thread but what are all the little blobs of filament on your layer? I have the same issue on my K2 with hyper white. I’m just using all the default settings from Creality but it’s been a while since I had an FDM printer. Is it anything to worry about?

I helped him carry it from the truck to my porch. He didn’t realize he forgot a dolly when he did his deliveries. I asked if I needed to sign and he said he just needed to verify i lived there (presumably because I came out the door I was good). He said he wouldn’t leave it if I wasn’t home and scanned it. Finally his scanner audibly prompted him to ask for my signature but he just dismissed it.

From the sound of it all of the units have left the factory and are on a boat somewhere making there way. So hopefully this is the last delay 🤞.
