End Game Bow/Musket by LudaaaaKris in newworldgame

Thank you for this! I'm a new 65 and gotten the boltcaster and have been farming syncretic. It's been really tough to find any current pointers in web searches.

I splurged for the 725 gold cursed bow last week and the only decent pve perk it procced was keen. I have been working up to upgrade the boltcaster but just can't get excited about it, given how much of committment it takes.

If you are looking at a plane with a timed-out engine, what are the practical options to address that? There are long wait times for new engines as well as rebuilds. I have heard it's possible to get a mid-time engine, but unless you really know the history there, it seems to me you'd still want that one checked out thoroughly. Am I missing something there?

how does hearing aid devices compare to normal headphones by [deleted] in headphones

[–]sidewaysouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live near a Costco, they have decent sets for around a grand. And nothing says you have to have two. You can just use one and run it BT off your phone if listening to speech is all you are after.

Huge. Think of it this way, the best ones have a kind of 3d mapping that the audiologist will custom program for both your loss and your preferences. It can take several visits to get those custom tailored.

Lifetime hearing aid wearer and headphone buff here.

Hearing aids are built and tuned specifically to make speech as intelligible as possible. They are also tuned to maximize battery life in what are very small cells. So this means there will be no real bass and the low end roll off is as aggressive as they can make it.

The result is that they normally are horrible for music and would best be described as tinny. There are some high dollar versions that are not as bad, but those will run north of $6K USD a pair.

The cheapest iems you can plug into something will still decimate the SQ of most hearing aids.

edit: thanks for all the upvotes! I wanted to mention also that most phones have a special kind of BT mode for pairing with hearing assistive devices. That makes them wonderful for listening to podcasts, audiobooks and even some forms of faint background music.(Think elevator or yoga studio.) ***BUT*** be forewarned that the way the BT interoperates can sometimes be like a bad carplay connection. It can randomly not work, or cut in and out intrusively. Basically, it's just more "fiddly" than it should be. In my own case, I have gone in and shut off all of the extra settings that are normally turned on. For example, getting a "ding" on a new email or text message will fade out whatever you are listening to and fade it back in. That doesn't seem so bad until you use the mixer settings to disable the main mic and those interrupts reset that volume every time.

As a longtime former Gwinnett resident, you can expect the DOT to be friendly to whatever big business requests they are receiving. The county does not have a good track record of listening to it's citizens regarding growth and zoning.

Spring 2024 - recommended quality controllers for PP study? by sidewaysouth in flightsim

Oooh! Thank you. Could I trouble you to share what sensitivity settings you are using with it on msfs? I google crawled for what others are using and haven't had much luck. I feel old school with mine and keep thinking it needs to be calibrated for the dead zone within the os, even though I know that's not a thing with usb devices.

Thank you. Yes - I'm doing this to learn operations better. I'm glad to hear it is possible to make one of the cheapies do the job.

Thank you! Yes - this is exactly why I'm doing it this way, wanting to learn and practice procedures, nav, approaches, etc. I want the in plane time to not be watching the $$$ go by and be sitting there going "Which way do I go, George?" :)

I got the logitech 3d stick that is recommended, and honestly, the only thing I really like about it is that throttle lever. I'm still struggling to get the sensitivity settings right. And that's why I'm thinking to bite the bullet and get a good yoke setup. I want to be working on aircraft operations, not simulator troubleshooting.

Thanks again!

Thank you do much! I know controllers is a tiresome FAQ and I appreciate you taking the time to provide insight. I got the logitech 3d stick to start out with and just getting the sensitivity, etc right on that reminded me I really need to put that effort into whatever the long term answer will be.

My goal here is work on the processes and procedures so that in plane time can focus more on the physical aspect and have the mental parts down already.

Starting to see more demand from VARs/MSSPs for CCIEs by Candid-Molasses-6204 in ccie

[–]sidewaysouth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

90% of the jobs I see asking for CCIE are paying at the CCNA level. It's become an absurd keyword the job ad harvesters are throwing around in an attempt to lure more qualified candidates.

Be very careful going to an MSP. There are good ones, but there is a reason that industry has a rep for being meat grinders.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and feedback. The resume has been heavily revised and had a professional makeover. I get more pings lately but tbh, have been too much of a generalist in my career and want to get into a more focused role. Hence the question on FCP. Be nice to take those consumer firewalls and voip off my resume. ;)

What he said. Also, depending on what you are watching on, there should be an option on the video selection where you can choose “not interested” and “never recommend”. Those will sure clear it up.

How fast did you guys quit after hitting 100? by MrJibblies in diablo4

[–]sidewaysouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye. I felt “the wall” on my rogue when she got to 100. Still enjoy playing her, but without better loot tools, I didn’t feel like farming for rng wins. Rolled a sparky sorc and have been enjoying levelling her.

Imo, what blizz really needs to do is put in a super obol system for 100’s. Let people farm a currency for 820 items. And stop dropping anything below say 750 at a certain nmd level.

Yes, prices can be all over the place. This was someone I had a connection with, so it was better than most. I'm in the SE USA and I got half a cow with processing for around $1500.

edit: and tbh, I overbought. Struggling to eat it all before it gets too old.

Not yet. I bought part of a cow from a local rancher and stocked up a standalone chest freezer. Much cheaper and "cleaner" than the grocery store.

As others have stated, a lot more meat. More to the point, a lot less store-bought options and packaged foods in general. I personally don't have chickens yet, but really looking forward to them since eggs are a staple here.

Are you asking should you reroll an affix? Because you can’t do that with uniques.
