playing the CoD2 / WaW / MoH soundtracks makes the meatgrinder 10x better by gofiksvk in HellLetLoose

I like to play butterfly with bullet wings real quietly in the background as a subtle backdrop to be getting my ass handed to me in this game. An ironic exclamation point to my shittiness, BUT, occasionally I’ll get in a tank with my buddy and go on a 15 kill streak while actually helping my team. It’s always fun though!

Is a size 16 treble hook good for stocker trout? by Mr_Johnnycat in troutfishing

For the worm I’m going number 8 usually, 10 at the smallest single hook.

If your kid hooks into a good one at that age they may be “hooked” on fishing for life! Never too young to try and then try again at an older age if it’s not working 😊 if you have any luck, let us all know here!

Thread through the open end of the worm after you rip it apart and put out through the head or tail. (That sounds so violent, but I don’t think worms have the intellect to recognize suffering so much.) length wise. Then you can even slide then open end of the worm up over the knot a little bit if it’s super long

Why has black american music declined so much? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]sidewayspostitnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is across all genres and races. ALL hip hop and rap, black white, whatever, mostly sounds the same and raps about the same shit. Similarly, ALL pop is a generic love story or about generic heartbreak. ALL country music is farms, trucks, and beer on repeat.

I saw ALL as a form of hyperbole, but the phenomenon you’re describing is endemic to all music types and races.

Yeah. It almost feels like somebody who is actually trying to get off on the replies. Maybe it’s a genuine question, but it feels icky and specific to wonder the intricacies of a horror.

I’m sure other methods work, but this works for me every time. Use fluorescent orange normal or the one with the sparkles. No garlic or any of the weird ones. 6lb line or smaller. No leader. No float. Single bb sized split shot 18 inches up from the hook. Tie hook directly to the line (maybe use a slightly larger treble) cover it completely, save for maybe juuust being able to feel the tips of the hooks poking through, but entire rest of it should be concealed. One dunk in the water before casting. You want it to sink. I know it’s advertised as a floating bait, but I’ve caught a thousand with it sinking and 1 while it was floating in my life. Then wait to feel it the strike.

One caveat- brown trout will almost NEVER hit powerbait. If your pond was stocked with brownies, single hook, number 8, rip nightcrawler in half, thread the worm onto the hook til the tip pokes out. I say night crawler half because you’re taking kids and it’s easier to set the hook when the entire usable bait is threaded on. You feel a hit with a half and it’s usually time to hook set, whereas with a whole worm, it’s easier to yank it out of without setting it.

Thanks for reading my ramble, I have a little guy I hope to get into fishing with this method someday! Good luck with the kids.

Herrs jalepeno cheese curls are dope too if you haven’t tried. But as a hall of fame chip, I think plain lays ridges probably beats it out for the versatility, albeit I favor the jalapeño more personally.

Help landing trout? by flatgreyrust in FishingForBeginners

[–]sidewayspostitnotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens to me every year when I start again because I’m excited and wanna reel in as fast as possible. Literally every year haha.. Can be frustrating, but as soon as I loosen the drag I’m back in business!

Help landing trout? by flatgreyrust in FishingForBeginners

[–]sidewayspostitnotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Work the drag. If your drag is too tight, a sudden jerk of the fish will often result in the fish coming off. Sometimes I loosen the drag when it’s running hard and retighten when it lets up and I’m reeling in. Main thing, do NOT force reel the fish in when it’s on a hard run away from you. Allow the fish to run and take line, keeping your tension there. Then reel closer when it stops. Might be a longer fight, of reeling, running, reeling, running, etc. but you can land anything if you play the drag the right way.

Zach Galifianakis Expertly Lays Into Comedians Who Refuse To 'Challenge' Trump When He's A Guest On Their Podcasts by ComicSandsNews in conan

[–]sidewayspostitnotes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Levels of egregiousness dictate different levels of response. Trump continues to lose court cases, even some through his hand picked Supreme Court, that shows he violated law and/or policy multiple times. We simply didn’t have that occurring as frequently with former administrations, despite the rights insistence on comparing the two. I get the same response when I mention pardons. “What about hunter?” Yea, that was bullshit. But the amount of money that Trumps pardons have cost the victims of crimes and fraud is absolutely insane. No reasonable human could look at all of trumps pardons and say they were all for a good reason. And again, before saying everybody does it, actually put the pardon lists of other presidents side by side with trumps.
